Biden is 77. During the middle of a pandemic that kills the elderly, it's probably a good thing for him to not be kissing babies and shaking hands.

As far as his gaffes - I suspect that's why so many older Democrats like him. There are a lot of people, like my mom, who loved his comment to Charlamagne the God. They see that kind of thing as honest and cutting through political correctness.

Step 1: Don't interrupt your enemy while he is making a mistake.

Step 2: Make ads quoting him verbatim making those mistakes.

All you need is an opponent who makes lots of mistakes.

Yep, seems like a sound strategy to me.

I've been hearing some pretty credible rumors that "Joe Biden" doesn't actually exist.  He's the first of these new-age candidates which combine the procedural generational algorithms of Dwarf Fortress with cutting-edge deepfake technology to generate political candidates out of thin air.

This means that getting a Democrat into office could actually be a good thing, because if a computer is intelligent enough to do these things, then a computer is also intelligent enough to understand the only way to get this country back on track is to pass tax cuts on the wealthy and deregulate the market.

So I think there's a decent chance this is all simply a big ruse, you put out this nice old man who appears to be a senile human being, a man that can act as the counterbalance to the indiscriminate hatred of a man like Donald Trump, and when America isn't looking, BOOM, you put prayer back in the schools.

I'd hug Joe Biden if he was not merely a digital projection.

That's the same strategy Democrats have used for decades now. How's that working out for everyone?

Biden's opponent is shooting himself in the foot every day.  He doesn't NEED to do anything.

Biden only needs pop up occasionally to throw a can of gasoline on Trump's latest bonfire gone bad.

Biden benefits by staying in the background. That's because his strengths as a candidate are rooted in his past: his nearly half-century of relating to voters on the stump; his decades of service in the Senate; his eight years as Barack Obama's vice president. The result is a warm glow of positive associations based on mostly cheery memories.

As long as he doesn't Coakley (and some would argue Hillary) this election by not doing enough outreach and thinking the election's in the bag.  Nothing's over 'til it's over, and this election is too important for anybody--candidate or voter--to just skate through.

Because the strategy of "not being the other guy" has worked so well by also not showing why you're a better choice than the other guy.

No entirely true.  You can't beat SOMETHING with NOTHING.

He's in Delaware, and complying with that state governor's "stay at home" order. A presidential candidate who is following the rule of law is a refreshing change.

It's the best strategy. As someone who will be voting for him, he has a tendency to say stupid shiat.

Hide and let CNN and MSNBC win it for him.

I know a lot of people want to make 2016 comparisons, but the difference between 2016 and now is that we had a chance to see Trump handle a real crisis. No amount of blind loyalty and propaganda is helping him out in this crisis. We have already had almost 4 years of Trump and, unless you are a diehard supporter or don't pay attention that much, you see that he is a blustering loser and crybaby incapable of leading.

Reporters have been able to successfully tee Donald up and he digs his own grave. The faster he tries to dig himself out of this the worse it gets.

The last thing we need is debates. Biden can truly coast to a comfortable election victory and we can move on with our lives. The best thing that could happen is that not only does Trump lose, but he loses a lot of states. Then, to add insult to injury, the Republicans lose Senate seats as well.

The best possible outcome out of this whole thing is crushing the GOP for ever daring to flirt with authoritarianism. Then we continue to crush them never letting up under any circumstances until either a new party comes along or they fix their shiat. Then crush them some more for good measure just because there was no excuse for this.

All Biden has to execute on 3 things to win:
1.  Don't be Donald Trump
2.  Pick an amazing VP
3.  Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave

Hillary did this in 2016 when she wouldn't have press conferences or give interviews. She stuck to pre-written remarks a lot of places because every time she had a press conference her poll numbers would drop after she had to actually establish positions and answer questions. Biden is the same. You can't put him out there on the campaign trail for him to answer questions because he will be constantly spouting off more stupid stuff, like telling union voters "I don't work for you!" and telling black people they aren't black if they don't vote for him.

Basically, yes. See my above comment. Every time she gave a press conference or interview she was asked questions she actually had to answer, and her answers caused her poll numbers to drop. She wouldn't give interviews for the longest stretches of time because of this.

I'd like to see more leadership. More outreach to people impacted by corona, and Trumps policies, and statements specifically.

But there's about 3 or 4 more months to go before he has to really start campaigning and showing those things.

Joe is being smart by not giving Trump any ammunition and letting him trip over his own feet.

You know what Joe should do shake this 'gaffe machine' image?  He should tweet. He should tweet out nonsense and stupid things 30 times a day, each more crazy, misspelled, and senile than the last. Go on tv in give deranged rambling tirades as often as possible. Make incoherent proclamations daily. Conjure up new invisible enemies to rail against at least twice a week. Over and over, so that people are trying to debunk his latest false idiot claims, there is a NEW one taking it's place in the news cycle. they won't be able to keep up, and it will become normalized to the point where no one even cares when he says dumb shiat. This is a tried and true method he needs to embrace.

Im not sure what you mean, but I wanted to add that the Trump campaign has been completely inept in adapting to a new reelection strategy. They were hoping to paint Obama as corrupt with the Russia probe, the economy is great, Biden is part of that swamp with Hunter Biden, and bring in some Hillary Clinton to the mix.

Campaign rallies galore with people hearing, with simple chants, and with America showboating jizzing all over the electorate. But he is seriously shiatting the bed. I will say that the moment you hear about Trump firing a bunch of people in his campaign is the moment you will see some changes.

If you asked me without the Pandemic would Trumps plan have ever worked? Yes. In fact I would say that Joe Biden would have lost (but wont the popular vote) and Trump would have scored reelection. No one gives two shiats about the squabbling between the progressives and moderate liberals in the Democratic party. No one cares anymore. Im sure it will matter in the future, but it does not matter right now.

I was one of those people who said Biden will lose. No, I am saying the opposite now. Biden is going to win if Trump keeps doing what he is doing and have no hopes of this getting better. A real disaster happened that effects everyone and not just some location in Puerto Rico. It effects everyone and every single American are able to see what Trump's response is. That base is peeling away. They see someone who takes no blame.

Clinton just couldn't give an honest answer. So she stopped taking questions because it was more damaging to do so then to just disappear until her next fundraiser.

That's not Joes problem.

Yes, the ones where the candidates were out there promising accountability and *gasp* representation for people who don't just want Republican policies and rampant corruption.
