"But even with such a radical paradigm shift, Hinrichsen says, he's not sure technology alone can prevent pathogens like SARS-CoV-2 from spreading through slaughterhouses and other workplaces. For that, you need a strong health care system, one that allows people to stay home from work when they're sick and not worry about losing their jobs and their insurance coverage. You also need strong national leadership in the face of a crisis. "

Well, never mind then.  NEXT DISPOSABLE IMMIGRANT UP!!

I'll see Subby's Rectum Loosener Robot and raise him a Meatpacking Robots, my Robert Plant/Devo mashup band.

I'm more curious about the machine that inverts and de-bones pork rectums.

At least I hope it's a machine.

"Pork rectum inverter and de-boner" is a strange thing to have on your resume.

CSB:

As a young father, my dad was in industrial sales.  Salt, plastics, etc.,.  In summers during my youth (1st thru 4th grade?), dad would take me on the road with him as he traveled the upper midwest, giving mom a break from me and alone time with my little sister.  A lot of that time I spent alone at the Holiday Inn pool while he made calls and appointments, but occasionally I would accompany hime on his rounds to places where he had strong relationships, or to public meetings and city government sessions where he would bid on salt deliveries for snow removal and such.  I would have on slacks, a clip-on tie, maybe even a little sport coat.  One of his clients was a beef slaughter house (the hides were packed in salt/brine).

In 3rd grade I struggled with arithmetic, and may have been showing signs of diminished interest in school in general.  During one of those summer roaders, I was excited to be joining dad on a business meeting in a factory.  After we walked up a flight of stairs that hugged the exterior yellow wall on the rear of the building that led to a small landing with a single door, dad paused, leaned down to me and looked me in the eye and said "son, if you don't do well in school, I think that you can get a job here" and then he opened the door.  Suddenly we were overlooking the head loosener, the innards outer and the skin stripper.  It was phuquin' heinous.  Never forgot that summer school lesson, and it's been 50 years now.  The world coulda used a rectum loosener then, I recall.

Danish Rectum Looseners FTW!
You probably haven't heard of them...

But the real question is if that processing plant sells calamari.

I'm fascinated by purpose-built industrial machines; thanks for this video.  If I'd had any math, spatial reasoning ability and tinkering talent at all, I would've gone into the fields that produce them.

Looks like she's really getting into that procedure.  Won't her boyfriend be surprised when he asks, "Well, what did you learn today?" and she replies, "Let me show you".
