The general public isn't that shocked, actually. It's the media who can't handle it. All their sponsors keep telling everyone that the second a person looks older than 18, they need to invest in a billion different products to paint over their appearance.

Surely all those nice vendors and marketers wouldn't tell them that just to boost sales!

Seriously, in the US? With our diets and (lack of) exercise habits, most people over 25 aren't physically attractive, so finding someone over 50 who still looks good is a cause for celebration.

Also: cue pictures of Toni at that one awards show back in the day.

I remember some possibly half-Asian chick having some fun in a video with one of Toni Braxton's songs playing in the background. Pretty farking hot chick, but this was maybe 2001 so if I were to see it now it'd probably look like Minecraft.
