I have to admit, this is a really weird last Sunday of May for me without the Indy 500. I understand why and I'm glad they moved it, but it's always been there. Even in 1986 when we knew it was going to be Monday (or Tuesday, or....), you still had the coverage.

Oh well, enough musing. Go Guido!

We at the Tiny Buddha Shrine are pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Ironbutt Challenge!!

And the winners are....nobody.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

::bows respectfully::

The 2020 Ironbutt Challenge has been canceled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on the racing schedule.  We anticipate resuming our annual 1262 mile hepatic death march in some form next year when the various series normalize their schedules.

It can at least be a bronze butt challenge with the virtual Monaco at noon

I'll be doing cleaning at my old place, arranging my new place, and getting my younger two kids from a weekend with their mom.  Somebody keep Pacedog fed and watered, and immediately smite the 48, 22 and 2.

//today, not so much

Rain chances are concerning me.  I will not be able to watch on TV during the week if it moves.

Also no one told me I *couldn't* sit on my arse and watch TV from 7am until late tonight.

Qualifying is on FS1 right now, even if the official Nascar app ensured me that it would be on Fox. This "ghost car" graphic is pretty cool. Definitely the first time I've watched qualifying in ages, if not the first time I've ever watched it not in person.

/Someone knock HWSNBN off the pole

Ouch into the wall on qualifying

Hey, Fernando Alonso is pretty good at this virtual racing thing.  That's awesome.

UPDATE:  I have not chosen a new favorite in the whatever Cup Series since I broke up with WTH Larson.  I guess I've narrowed it down to: Truex Jr., KyBu, KuBu, Bowyer of the shaking arms.  Or it could be a wild card.  Not that any of y'all care but I just wanted you to know.

Aluminum Butt?

After 2 months of doing nothing, even by my standards, I think Silly Putty Butt is the best way to describe what we'll have at the end of the race.

Clint. Gotta be Clint. He definitely replaced Dammit in my fandom. Hell, after watching him with all the iRacing, he's in a virtual tie with KyBu as my favorite.

How would I know? But it's scheduled to be run on 23 May next year, which is a week earlier than Indy and the World 600.

That is odd. I have to believe they get a lot of ratings from Indy and NASCAR fans. I know of a lot of people who only watch NASCAR but will watch Monaco

I am still at work today, and will be till 6PM central time, and as it takes over an hour and 15 minutes for me to get home from here.  Unless there are lots of cautions, red flags and possibly rain delays, The race will probably be over by the time I get home.  On the positive side, if they move the race to tomorrow or Tuesday I will be off and at home to watch it.

Only reason I don't watch more F1 is that I generally don't want to take up at 4 or 5 in the morning to watch a race. Monaco is the only race that will get me out of bed that early.

they usually schedule Monaco on the 4th weekend of May.  next year May has 5 weekends and Memorial Day falls on the 30th.  it's happened before when Monaco runs the week before - think the last time was in 2010
