Yeah well with everyone being forced to wear facemasks people are breathing their own CO2 which is worse. At least CO2 emissions just go up into the air and we're not BREATHING that.

The trick to lowering the CO2 we are breathing back in with the masks on is to do a little DIY adjustment by carefully cutting a small hole that will fit a short length of plastic tubing into the opening. It's important that the opening be just enough for the tube as you don't want to compromise the integrity of the mask. Use a few pieces of tape to ensure the mask has a good seal when your done. The next step is add a little lubricant to the other end of the tube and gently insert it into your anus, then just breath like normal.
This one trick not only reduces the CO2 rebreathing but you also get to enjoy the smell of your own farts while using the mask. It's win/win.

It has amused me that genuine authoritarian governments, like Hong Kong, have banned wearing masks yet in the US being told to wear a mask is seen as authoritarian.

This is how you get the Covidiots to wear masks. Obama's face-recognition technology won't work with a mask on, so it can't increase your payroll tax by 99 cents to pay for the mandatory abortions that are required under Obamacare.

Or use the PIN to pay.

Or if you have an Apple Watch, there is no PIN or Face ID necessary as long as the watch hasn't been removed from your wrist since you last unlocked it.

In Gibson's book, Zero History, the plot contains a shirt patterned in such a way that it fouled up facial recognition.

It was called 'The Ugly Shirt'.

The first cloth sewn cloth mask I got was mad from remnants of kiddie clothes material.  Choo-choo trains etc.  It is a strong contender for being called 'The Ugly Mask'

Yes, you are. But it will only go over with people that pay for nitrogen in their tires, when air is already 78% nitrogen. So, the 30% that are anti-science and anti-education.

Yep, still rockin' my iPhone 8 Plus with the old fingerprint sensor tech.

Apple Pay works great for me, except at Carl's Jr. where their drive-thru payment device has a cable barely long enough to reach the window, much less the customer in their vehicle.  :-(

The latest iOS allows you to turn off Face ID so that it asks for your PIN when you want to use Apple Pay.

So then how is this even ever a problem? My phone tells me there's a new update then it tells me it's downloaded the update and it will be loaded while you sleep.
Kind of creepy but that's what happens.

Ah my dear friend - you see asking Americans to do anything (whether they want to or not), for any reason is an authoritarian act that infringes on our basic freedoms. If you started telling people they needed to wipe their ass after using the toilet, there would be a vocal minority who would equate it with Hitler/Stalin/Insert Boogeyman.

Update to the latest iOS and it will give you the ability to pay with your passcode if face recognition doesn't work, such as when using a mask.

We've had our masks for a few weeks now, others may have been dealing with it for about a month?  They probably  had to rewrite some code to handle this, then have it fully tested and possibly certified since it deals with a payment system.

It didn't affect me directly, but for some it may have been an issue for a while.

Again, anyone, seriously anyone with enough data on the topic of how to ID a person and the history of that work. Knows this is not real, will not work, is not reasonable to use as a unique identifier among us.

Everyone pushing this idea that just an image of your face is going to be good enough. Is either a right moron that has not bothered to learn what already has come before.
Or they know full well they are pushing a snake oil.

If finger prints needed to have more data points added to them in order to not have false IDs among us all, as we were starting to discover.
And we know full well the eerie reality of finding your doppelganger.

On just that surface level alone it becomes highly questionable to consider the ruin of someone's life on a false ID by the Bot, when the middle of the bell that we are  imagine bots don't make mistakes.

Once you walk someone out in handcuffs, once the general info on the street is, arrested for pedo/murder/rape/etc.

That's it, you ruined a life and no amount of, oopps we made a mistake on that one, even if it did get found out and admitted to at all, is going to undo anything about how they get treated/what may remain hanging over them for the rest of their lives.

And here at fark i should imagine we quite well know that today's news correction/redaction, does not have much change on what the people now already know from yesterdays printed mistake.

Err... I updated to a Motorola Z4 towards the end of last year.  Full phone screen and still has a front facing fingerprint scanner.  Think it's sonic/sonar based?

Whatever, it's a hell of a lot more picky than the ones not tucked behind the screen.

The United States also has anti-masking laws pre-2020. They just aren't being enforced at the moment... As far as we know.
