vudukungfu: Pain don't hurt

Joan Jett has a song titled "Love is Pain".

Nazareth has a song titled "Love Hurts".

Therefore, by the transitive property of Rock, pain hurts.

From my own experience, repeating the words "Pain is nothing." over and over also seems to work.

When it does work it makes you laugh, "hey, pain really is nothing!"

Came here for the video of Kari Byron with her hand in the ice water and trying not to swear.  Leaving dissatisfied.

Yes, I could try to find it on my own, but I'm at work today and cant access youtube directly.

FTFY

All Mythbusters did was tell you what result they were going to reach, and then to their damnedest to attain that result.

And this is why we need swearing. Meaning that we need words to say that are "bad". If we loosen the taboo on swearing, the words have no impact psychologically, and will no longer help. I know Fark thinks that everyone should swear wherever the fark they want, but if you do, then this one weird trick will stop working.

Pain is nothing until you have to pass a kidney stone.

To be fair, you did promise "Only the tip."

That doesn't really explain the frequent numerous encounters thereafter. Maybe it's her thing. NTTAWWT

My wife had a kidney stone during the blizzard of 78... in Boston. She managed to make it to the hospital . By the time she passed it and could leave, no transportation was moving. She had to walk home.

Say your stripping forms alone at a residential construction site, and you hit yourself in the knew with a hammer, hard. You start to faint, but realize the mudpit is full of water and you'll die. Start swearing and throwing things. Then stop. If the fainting comes back, start swearing again.

Say your removing logging truck rims from axles in a factory, and you get tired and your loaded arm drops, ripping out half of your pinky fingernail. Start swearing and go to the first aid room. Once you lay down in the chair, stop swearing and then it's okay to start fainting.

Say your having your first kidney stone, there really is nothing quite like it, and your almost fainting. Start swearing. Then the nurses and security staff will laugh at you, maybe throw you out of the hospital, give you a few swats on the way out.

I guess what I'm saying is your results may vary.
