Don't give them the option, submitter, you know which one they'll choose.

Shocking.

Hey, we all make mistakes every now and then and say something that might not be technically "true".  Or, you know, 18,000+ times in 3 years.

Of course it didn't happen. Trump scared them off. Duh.

I was on I-84 in Hartford on election day. There was a line of a hundred, hundred fifty school buses heading from New York to New Hampshire full with illegals going to vote. Each bus had a huge front to back Hillary banner. Can't make this up.

Trump lied about something? Get me my fainting couch.

/sad that this is the new normal

If you could make this up you'd be hired by the White House.

"A day later, he lied about the discovery of "miraculous" votes, and vowed to dispatch lawyers to "expose the fraud" that did not exist in reality."

Amazing, the "L" word. Granted it's MSNBC.

How long til Trump files suit?

I'm pretty certain this was obvious in 2018.

Nah, he'll just rage tweet, "MSDNC is FAKE NEWS!" "MSDNC is so unfair to me!" "MSDNC blah blah blah derp derp derp"

Yeah, and don't forget all those four cases of voter fraud in 2016, two were Trump voters, one in a Mayoral race, that's a fraud rate of about 0.0000044%, you know 44 out of one billion since 2000.

Which is also about the same amount of streetlight reports.

Wasn't it obvious what a shiatshow Trump's presidency would be when he would not accept that he legitimately lost the popular vote?

If the amount of voting fraud they claim happens actually happened, there would be a lot more Southern Democrats. One I always hear is that the Democrats use buses to bring black people to multiple polling places  Look at demographics of Alabama and Mississippi. Black people are still a minority, but if every black person that voted also got to vote a second time, it would make statewide elections in those states pretty close. If they got to vote a third or forth time, they would overwhelm white Republican voters.

Argument with my sister in law:

Her: People shouldn't get to vote by mail. There's too much fraud.
Me: Find me a case of it.
Her: It's everywhere.
Me: Find me. One case. Of voter fraud.
Her: Well it's my opinion so I don't have to look up facts about it.

That's how they think.
That's how they'll vote.

Man, how did hue get that wrong? He just tries so hard to be a beacon of justice but Murphy's Law is stronger.

2020-05-23 2:38:48 AM
Haha. This is totally normal. It's now totally normal for the President of the United States to believe in imaginary conspiracy theories he gets from reading Twitter and to ignore actual facts reported by professional government agents. How utterly normal this is. Not weird or disturbing at all. No cause for alarm. Haha. Ha. Heh.

Were you on the Pol tab when there was a picture of a woman holding a sign that said FIX OLD NO NEW at an anti-Obamacare rally? Your story reminds me of that sign.

Also, was that picture your sister?

This.

The damage is long since done. Deep in the mind of the Trumpers, the vote cheating "facts" are long since deeply engraved.

Trump will never issue a retraction, but even if hell froze over and he did, it would hardly undo any of those beliefs that are now entrenched for many.

Whatever happened to the media loudly calling out any obvious bullshiat? Trump holds a high standard for media to retract and apologize, why can't he ever do so himself?

Trump appeals to people who think apologies are a form of punishment. If he never apologizes, he is immune to punishment. That's part of his plan.

Another example that voter ID or in-person voting would have done nothing to prevent.
Just like all the many examples of Republican election fraud.

Election fraud is very real - but the GOP ignores it because they use it themselves, and it isn't an excuse to institute voter ID - their real agenda.
Voter ID, poll taxes, and other such restrictions that can be used to stop the young, the poor, and minorities from voting are their real agenda.
Their real objection to mail-in voting is that it makes voter ID and other such abuses impossible.
None of this is about promoting honesty in our elections - otherwise, they would not refuse to work with Democrats for real election reform.
The GOP is the minority party - they represent a small, shrinking group of white Americans - and they will increasingly have to cheat to win.

If you were alive in the 70s you would have remembered President Carter would go on these long random speeches about how peanuts were the answer to everything.

I've criticized VBM before, but I'd be willing to bet that if there is a sincere attempt at fraud using the vulnerabilities of VBM it will be conducted by republicans and completely botched. The people who believe most strongly in the efficacy of fraud are the ones most likely to do it, and the self righteous certainty of the rapture right makes it very easy for them to justify doing it. Those same people, OTOH, have such a weak ability to assess reality without bias that they are all but certain to fark up spectacularly.

The one thing that VBM does prevent, though, is Voter ID abuse, poll taxes, voter intimidation, and all the other tactics that have been traditionally invoked to stop "undesirable" voters from exercising their rights.
That's why they oppose it - they are not opposed to election fraud.

Interesting how MSNBC came out with this article the day after the ballot box stuffing democrat  from Philly gets charged.  That's the same "look over there, a shiny object" trick that Fox news uses with such effect to take Republican malfeasance out of the news.
