I never really thought George was all that interesting of a character for a biopic, but it *is* Nolan, so...

The last trailer made absolute no sense and was just loud blaring brass notes over and over.

Does this one point out WHAT THE MOVIE IS ACTUALLY ABOUT?

Chris Nolan makes awesome movies (Insomnia notwihstanding, that was an awful movie) and I'd love to want to see it, but I have absolutely zero clue what the hell it's about.

I am so psyched for this.  I can't wait to pay $20 to rent it from Prime Video Cinema in December.

If you'll excuse me, I have to finish watching Trolls World Tour before my rental expires.

It explains everything in the movie in exhaustive detail, ruining all of the surprises, then emails itself to everyone in your address book.

I wonder if love transcending time and space will play a big role in this one.

well, you could.....now hear me out.......go see a movie based upon the style of the director's past films, which you say you liked. And, this is the tricky part, not know everything about it before going in and really have your mind blown.

or not, it could suck.

but based on what it seems closest to, style-wise (Inception), and the fact that John David Washington was the shiznet in BlacKkKlansman, I'm really looking forward to seeing it as blind as I can.

So an action movie with a lot of footage run in reverse?

Meh.

I hated Inception. I disliked the last two Nolan Batmans (you heard me).
He destroyed the Superman mythos as producer.
Fark this guy.

2020-05-22 7:22:51 PM
He's really setting himself to fail by making these type of "Chris Nolan" movies.

Once you fall into Tim Burton or Shamalan territory, you're screwed.
People expect something from you and when you don't get it right, you're demonized!

Yeah I'm going to watch it. I love his brand of mind-farkery with a big budget. Eyecandy abounds with some genuine confused interest for the plot. I'm in.

No, I will not do that.

I just need a simple two or three sentence synopsis of the premise and genre of the movie.

If it's anything like Inception though, that would be amazing.  Definitely in my top 5 movies of all time.

I wonder what will happen to the space/time continuum when Michael Caine passes away.  Nolan seems to need him.

As it's a Nolan movie, I look forward to falling in love with his deeply emotional characters, and enraptured by the heart-rending, and touching story. I'll laugh, I'll cry.

I remember when I used to enjoy seeing trailers that just teased what the movie was about and didn't give the whole thing away. If I remember correctly, that's the whole point of a trailer.

That wasn't that bad. Yeah, it's a bad look to white wash the cast, but otherwise it was fine.

I wonder how many millions went into the SFX budget to make film footage run backwards.

I'm probably going to like it then, if you thought The Dark Knight and Inception were bad. His last Batman movie was good but ran a little long imo. And Man of Steel was great imo other than the way Pa Kent died. I put that on Zack. I get the point he was trying to make but it was totally ooc for Clark to just let his dad die like that when he could have prevented it.

So a movie about a place where you think you can go for some urgent and quality medical care, but a few weeks later you are buried under a mountain of bills from every person/corporation who "claimed" to have seen and treated you?? And then after that, debt collectors harass you nonstop until you kill yourself??

Nolan brings original content, and often complex interwoven plots and subplots, as well as amazing settings and visual storytelling.

The one thing they can't buy, that he'd insist on, is a farking movie theater screen/sound system to properly watch it on.

True, but for most of his movies, the longer you think about them....they fall apart.

Batman Begins. Giant microwave emitter in the train that vaporizes water. Batman and Ra's Al Ghul are on that train. They are both made of water.

The Dark Knight. With the exception of the bank heist at the beginning, every move Joker makes requires near omniscience.

The Dark Knight Rises. Big list, I'll just name a few. How long were the police underground? How did Batman go from broken back, to fully healed, to making an impossible leap, back to Gotham (whose entrances were blocked off), and have the time tom the gasoline Batsignal? Lastly, Bruce Wayne. After dying, this semi-famous billionaire just goes traipsing around Europe with no disguise and a beautiful woman who will definitely grab attention.

Sorry. I can suspend disbelief to really like his movies, but there are severe plot holes in everything he directs.

I understand that, but he might be forced to. At&t might force him to.

Of course it will.  Nolan was an English major in university.  All that questionable learning has to be channelled somewhere.

I dunno when they mastered that art. I've watched trailers from the 60s and 70s that appear to be just five minutes of the movie.

Noah_Tall: So does the movie end with a top sitting on a table then the audience argues about if it ever starts spinning?

No, the big reveal is going to be that the end of the movie is the beginning and the beginning is actually the end...or is it? The cliffhanger question will be what exactly is time, for if you remove the linear part of it and as you look at time from different vantage points, your definition and understanding changes. Is time really a linear construct? Is it a loop? Is it a sphere? Or is is amorphous holding no particular shape and ever changing?

I can see Nolan watching DOCTOR STRANGE and going, "Oh they're trying to out-Inception my movie INCEPTION??  Well, I'm going to out-Reverse-Time-Travel DOCTOR STRANGE's Reverse Time Travel!  That will show them!"

Yeah, or they'd spoil the one cool SFX shot because that's all they could afford so they've got to milk it.
