El Dudereno: Nick Nostril: El Trolo: One thing I know about mental illness is that crazy people like to go outside naked.

This. On my parents street, which is on a semi-rural, dead-end street with may a dozen houses per side, there have been several dementia/Alz sufferers over the years who have taken to doing this. I'm waiting for my mom to tell me my dad (Alzheimers) has done this. That's when I'll know it's time for him to go into a home.

A friend of mine works at an old folks' home, and about once a week they have a runner who somehow gets out of the building naked.

What a naked runner might look like...

Krieghund: Gramma: WastrelWay: I don't understand why anyone would call 911 because a woman was walking down the street naked. Well, unless she was black.

If I saw a woman walking down the street naked I would be concerned for her well being. And I would call 911 so that if she needed help, she would get it.

Last year I saw a naked woman walking down a busy street in my Los Angeles suburb.  She wasn't hurting anything so I minded my own damn business.

I didn't see anything positive that would come from calling the LA County Sheriff's Department.

I've had maybe 10 interactions with the police in my life. They have all been positive experiences.  I know there are many horror stories in the news, but my personal experience is that the police are there to help.

sithon: Is this the same woman? The ages line up

I think so. Troy is in the next county from Dothan.

I'm guessing she looks a bit like a bag of potatoes, not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm just glad I'm not a relative.

My grandmother had Alzheimer's and lived with us during my high school years.  One weekend night I'm driving home about midnight and she's standing in our front yard naked.  Unfortunately she didn't know who I was (I had aged 10 years since her diagnosis), so getting her back in the house and up to her bedroom was brutal.  Mom broke down and put her in a facility a week later.  Bad way to go.
/mental illness or no, the woman in the article is 90% better looking than I had expected

I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of that, I know quite a few people who could use a laugh. Thank you.

All I find is all I give, enjoy.
