I spatchcocked a chicken and cooked it on my weber kettle grill using maple wood lump charcoal and indirect heat (pile the coals on one side of the grate and put the chicken on the other side of the grill) the other day and it was farking delicious.  Last night I tried to grill some pork chops and nearly burnt my house down because the chicken fat on that side of the kettle ignited.

Word to the wise, if you grill poultry, expect fire.

I'd like to put that "article" on the grille and close the lid.

That's one of the reasons you preheat your grill, burn off the crap from the last time you used it.

I never said that it happened while I had food on the grill this happened during the pre-heat.
