Nicholas D. Wolfwood: orbister: An interesting piece of good news. While there is a lot of talk about possible vaccines, treatment for COVID-19 has been getting better and better (for example many fewer patients need ventilation compared to a couple of months ago) and "finding a cure" may be the dark horse coming up from behind.

I was under the impression that we have never managed to actually *cure* a viral disease.

I will be very happy if I find out that this is incorrect.

I'll settle for "finding an effective treatment", then.

I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: orbister: I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: However, unlike HIV, it doesn't always win and wipe out the immune system, but it does damage it in severe cases. (This may also be related to the syndrome children see with this disease, which I forget the name of.)

MISC with a hyphen somewhere?

Right, that's it.

It's not that fewer people need ventilation... it's that in some instances ventilation seems to do more harm then good.

Phew, rest easy science! Somebody has asserted the viruses can be cured! Somebody get the lights and fire the treatments.
