alechemist: Big 900: There is a Ross next to the Target I go to sometimes, but I've never been in it. It looks like it is somewhere between a downmarket Burlington Coat Factory and an upmarket Goodwill. I'm not even sure if they sell men's clothes, as I've only ever seen large, grumpy, middle aged women going in and out of it.

They have mens clothing , but unless you have time to kill to look for something good in your size you should shop elsewhere.

We were at a Jacksonville Waffle house, drunk at 3 am, and we actually had a good looking waitress. Turns out it was the owners wife who was filling in to help out for a sick employee.

She joked around with us and when we left my buddy throw her a a$20 and said "Hey baby, go to Ross and buy your self something pretty!"

She responded "shiat, I could get like 3 outfits and a pair of shoes with this!"

Were they fighting over the one shirt that didn't have a footprint or make-up stains on it?

Such indignity. They're acting like it's a Payless.

That one lady in jeans didn't seem to be involved in the fight. She was just teabagging the person on the ground.

I wonder if she's single.

Well, first ones in get to move all the clothes around so they're no longer sorted by size.  They also get to pull the dresses off the hangers so they either fall to the ground and get stepped on or just get stuck on another dresses'  hanger.

People that come in later can only complain about the mess not contribute to it.

Stuff that was in Macy's and Penney's a couple months ago.

I  have a ton of in laws in Colombia and when I go I generally bring em clothes and gifts.  So I hit Marshalls and Kohls.  Hell even I buy stuff during the year at Aldis.

I have been to Ross like twice.  I swear all I have ever seen is knock off Fila shoes, Polo Club Tshirts, fake Colognes, shaving kits, and stale bags of candy.

It is like the lost and found of defunct strip malls.

notgonnatellu: Just going to say that the more bargain the store, the more willing people are to duke it out.

Think that's bad, wait until the norm for grocery stores gets back into swing. People of WalMart will soon be a televised event on Fox network with the tagline "Can YOU survive the retailpocalyse?"

Don't think I'm going to set foot in a store for quite awhile. Last visit was March 3rd going inside anything other than my Dr's office.

Walmart has been in full swing for awhile.

While the other grocery stores in my town were limiting number of people in at one time, cordoned off for social distance, and only one family member at a time...

Walmart had familes of 5+ browsing, trying on clothes, and buying Tee Vee sets and bbqs.

middlewaytao: The funny thing about those stores, they are not really bargain stores so much as many labels create cheaper made versions to specifically sell at outlets like this.

I realized that one many years ago. I buy most of my tshirts, shorts, and the like at outdoor clothing places like Eddie Bauer, North Face, etc. For a while, it was the only place to buy casual shorts that weren't super baggy and below knee in length, and I like the moisture wicking tshirt material. But that shiat can be pricey so I'd go to their outlet stores. The stuff was decent, a bit  better quality than kohl's, etc, and similar prices. Then I went to an actual Eddie Bauer store. I looked at a similar item, and the difference in quality was instantly apparent. And the thing of it was the prices weren't that much higher, especially since they have sales all the time. North Face was the same.

White people in McAllen?

Serious doubt.
Being a Mexico border town

Mexicans are basically chameleons. They are white when they are misbehaving, but brown when they are being deported.
