He can't actually cancel the election so this is his limp dick alternative.

Really, there has been mail in voting in FL since I can remember. Granted I can't remember very far but it's been there for a while. The military votes by mail. What is Trump afraid of?

The only problem I see with voting by mail is that it's not completely private so some drunken redneck husband beats his wife if she doesn't vote republican. So what's the problem?

And did it illegally. And justified it by saying it's OK for him, because he has to stay in the white house. He said this just before hopping on a plane to a photo op.

Trump changed is legal residence to Florida.

This is because Florida's forfeiture laws in law suits allow you to keep your primary residence.  Which is claiming is Mar a Lago.

However, Mar A Lago legally cannot be used as a residence for voter registration because it is a business.

So Trump voted illegally.

Mail-in voting is only temporary.Right now only angry bored people over 60 vote and it rewards those in power to keep it that way.
Leadership in both parties will both lose power.
Making the vote easy is going to go down in history as what killed wacko free market conservatism.

I'm no lawologist, but it's my understanding that you can sue for anything you can come up with. The trick is in finding a law-talker to take your case on, and then finding a judge who won't throw it out while forcing you to repay everyone involved in your bullshiat suit.

Here in Oregon, we are vote-by-mail only. Everyone is automatically registered when they get their driver's license. It's all straightforward and inclusive.

Yesterday was our pimary election. I am not registered as affiliated with either major party, so I get the nonpartisan ballot. This year, for my location, I had a total of 11 positions that were up for a vote. All but one were for judges. That lone other position was for a county assessor. Of those 11 positions, only two were running unapposed, and only the county assessor was not an incumbent. And they were running unapposed.

So I didn't vote, simply because there wasn't anyone or anything to vote for. Had there been a bill that needed votes, sure, but for this, there wasn't a point if you aren't a D or R.

But at least I didn't do this:

I am hoping the Michigan Secretary of State would bring a $100+ Million defamation suit against Trump, for his claims that sending out absentee applications was illegal.  Under Michigan Law (and that of every other state) to accuse someone of committing a criminal act is defamation per se(defamatory on its face.)

Not only is what she did perfectly legal, but is part of her duties as required under Article II of the Michigan State Constitution.

I'm so tired of this old, fat, farker shooting his mouth off, I would love to see him face the music when he comes up with these completely bogus claims.  The only thing unlawful here was him threatening to withhold funds which is illegal, just as when he tried it with Ukraine.  I hope she sues him so bad.....

The way mail in ballots should work is you get your paper ballots and two envelops.  One has nothing on it other than maybe a county or voting district.  The other one has something on it to identify a voter.  When the votes arrive at the counting location, they should be checked against the voter roll and the inner envelop put in a pile based on the voting district and this should be done by election officials while being observed by members of any political party that want to send volunteers.  The list of who voted by mail should be made public for inspection. Once all the inner envelops are put in the pile, then they are opened by election officials and sorted also under observation by members of the political parties.  How hard is that to do correctly?

logieal: I am not registered as affiliated with either major party, so I get the nonpartisan ballot.

That's an interesting way to do it. In CO, for a long time if you were unaffiliated you just didn't get to vote in primaries. A couple years back they changed it, so now you get the D and R primary ballots mailed to you and you have to pick one.

/Accidentally got three separate forms this year
//Changed from U to D right about the time they were printing but before the primary deadline, so I got the A double envelope, changed registration and they sent just the D.
///Heh. I said "just the D".

I'm sure in our president's syphilis addled brain that somehow, if Democrats can vote by mail, Jeff Bezos gets some sort of kickback from the postal service because the Washington Post is fake news.

OldRod: theflatline: Trump changed is legal residence to Florida.

This is because Florida's forfeiture laws in law suits allow you to keep your primary residence.  Which is claiming is Mar a Lago.

However, Mar A Lago legally cannot be used as a residence for voter registration because it is a business.

So Trump voted illegally.

Bingo!  The president who is so concerned with voter fraud, committed voter fraud

Mmmmmmmmmmm...  no.  Trump is a rotten bag of shiat but the Elections Administrator is the one breaking the rules by crafting a ballot for a commercial address.

Submitting a Registration Application with a commercial address is not a crime in any way, shape, or form and isn't remotely the same issue as voter fraud since he never attempted or intended to vote as anyone but himself.

The point I find in this that nobody else seems to have caught is that registering at MaL means he's not rich enough to buy an actual house in FL to register at.

Hell, one doesn't have to own the residence one claims nor is there *any* effort to verify someone lives at a residence beyond mailing the Registration Card where the voter says he/she will be and watching if it gets return as Undeliverable.  That *this* means is that Trump can't even find a FL buddy that would let him say he's crashing on the couch just so a proper ballot could be given to him.

Trump is poor in both money *and* friends, lol.

Epic Fap Session: Trump also threatened legal action against his campaign manager for bad poll numbers.

What I'm trying to say is that Trump threatens legal actions consistently against all threats, both real and imagined.

How many times has he muttered 'I'll sue you' to his limp dick to get it up?

lawboy87: Azz Pumper: Just requested an Absentee Ballot for me and the wife here in Oklahoma.  Not that voting Democrat in Oklahoma really does any good with the electoral college and all.  Maybe some of the down ticket races will flip to BLUE!

Kendra Horn (D) pulled out the victory in the US House race (in OKC) against a 2 term Republican incumbent last time around.  Not to mention a number of State seats that flipped to Democratic candidates at the state level.  There's always hope, so long as the more progressive types turn out the vote.

Don't worry, there are efforts to keep that from happening too. Just look at how many progressives happily latch on to even the flimsiest attacks against Biden.

logieal: Here in Oregon, we are vote-by-mail only.

From our paper today.

It just wastes everyone's time.

So, your genius solution to a Primary election that's a waste of time if one isn't an R or D is to make no attempt at getting candidates that aren't an R or D onto the Nov ballot to maybe get a government job?

Do you really want to have a conversation about wasting time in the voting process? Can we start with the time, effort, and money it took OR citizens to enable you to wipe your ass with democracy and biatch about doing so?

thorpe: hammettman: By the time it's all said and done, this election is going to end up at the Supreme Court.  Which may be the plan.

It would have to be extremely close for that to happen in my opinion. I don't think this election will be close.

Vote.

indy_kid: olorin604: Private_Citizen: Mugato: He can't actually cancel the election so this is his limp dick alternative.

Ironically, Trump voted by mail during this last election.

I'm not sure he did vote by mail. I have seen at least one report that his ballot was hand delivered by a republican runner. A process condemned by the right as ballot harvesting. ( Source needed)

How he voted isn't the issue.  He claimed Mar-a-Lago as a residence, which is it not.  He voted claiming to be a resident of Florida and he was not.  Thus, the act of voting, regardless of the manner, was illegal.

/Ain't nothing gonna happen
//Neither Florida nor Barr will prosecute
///Biden's AG, OTOH...

When it comes to voting, nobody and I do mean nobodyhas the authority to say a person is not a resident of a domicile.

If Trump claims he's an FL president for voting purposes, then he's an FL president for voting purposes.

The Elections Adminstrator ruined his professional reputation by knocking under to Trump by crafting a ballot for a commercial address, but no laws were broken in anything regarding Trump's voting by mail from Mar-a-Lago.

That's exactly the process, except the outer envelope has the Voter ID info while the inner envelope is blank.  The ballots don't need to be sorted into precincts for counting since the mailer envelope records all that for accounting upon the ballet's return.

Jake Havechek: NeoCortex42: Whenever he makes his asinine claims about fraud, the press needs to push him to either provide specific examples or STFU.

Except for a very very small number of reporters, the press are a bunch of candy ass wusses who care about their jobs more than getting the truth to the people.

which would explain this:  "White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said ..." why bother to quote her at all. she has lied from her very first presser.

Again, I am unable to vote for any of the public office candidates since I am not affiliated with either major party. For my area, there were no nonpnonpartisan candidates to vote on. I could have voted for one of the judges, but meh. There was no race to vote on. But you go ahead with your big insults to make yourself feel tough.

Yeah, because it's a Primary where the Parties are trying to decide their candidates to run in the actual Nov Election and your genius effort was to not even attempt to put any non-R or D candidates on the ticket, then biatch about how voting for non-R or D candidates.

Congratulations, you played yourself and then boasted to us about it how much you don't really care about being the bigger drain on democracy than those you biatch about.

Why are you even in this thread if you're so apathetic about the topic?  Why are you putting more effort into this thread than you put into your democracy, and why do you think it makes you a good citizen?
