WTF is all that? That makes about as much sense as Kramer's post office protest.

That's rather ghetto of them.

Nice to know the other country I call home has plenty of farking nutjobs to keep me from being homesick when I live over there.

Yeah, that'd be clueless idiots.

A celebrity vegan cook, a prominent R&B singer, and a former broadcast journalist turned YouTuber are among the movement's figureheads. Some align themselves with an initiative called "Querdenken" or lateral thinking, whose symbol is a pendant fashioned out of a tinfoil ball. Another movement, called "Widerstand 2020" or resistance 2020, headed by a lawyer, a psychologist and an ear, nose and throat specialist, is also gaining support.

Holy hell, it's like looking in a national mirror.

I don't know if I should feel bad for Germany or good that we aren't alone in being afflicted with morons of this stripe.

Well, good to know that the US isn't the only place in the world with a minority of absolute farking morons.

Oh and, guess what the #1 source of antivaxxer BS and lies is? Russia... Because if they can harm the west Russia looks less bad by comparison.

There is no need for punitive action if people refuse to get vaccinated (if/when one is available)... as long as it's accompanied by the right of any agency, school, business or other employer to say "you can't work here if you're not vaccinated".

/Ditto for tetanus, MMR, DTaP, Hep, etc.

Red Shirt Blues: I thought the Germans were suppose to be the smart ones.

See, that's the thing... essentially they are, or at least more rational. *shrug*
The real issue is that stupidity is world wide.

We are entering the age of Stupidicus... where not only do many vote on matters they don't comprehend, they then believe that their uncomprehending opinion has more value than that of the official elected... if it doesn't agree with their assessment, that is.

The art of thought is lost.

Actually, no it's not.

It's probably just Putin stirring shiat to destabilise the EU as well.

The ones in France have been antsy for quite some time.

They're safer in Germany than they are in France. France doesn't have a sense of guilt for their treatment of Jews, and thus they won't go out of their way to keep them safe.

Germany has a bit of an image problem in that regard, so it's a bit safer to be Jewish there.

Stop paying attention to them, anyone doing something like this just wants attention and to feel special and even a bunch of messages calling them idiots is better to them than silence.

If you don't get a vaccine, do you lose your job, your home, all your clothing and belongings, are separated from any family, are put behind barbed wire, starved, and eventually gassed to death?
No?

Best to stay on the west side of the country though, just to be safe.  The Ossis have a higher tendency to be a little more Neonazish

That is correct.

Perhaps West Germany should have done a better job of investing in those regions, and not treating them like they were idiots.

Having a job and a sense that your country views you as a valuable member of society go a long way towards stemming antisocial behavior of all stripes.

Look, dude. Here's the thing.

I'm a white dude who remembers his Pawnee grandmother talking with the family around the table about the "goddamn Europeans".

Yeah, this shiat gets confusing after just a couple of generations. And you're making your case with no one.

Maybe if you focused on the issues, instead of the personalities, you're life would get better.

The governor says I have to stay home to guard my own health and the health of others.  I can't believe this!  He's worse than Hitler!

Reductio ad Hitlerum (/ˈhɪtlərəm/; Latin for "reduction to Hitler", also known as playing the Nazi card) is an attempt to invalidate someone else's position on the basis that the same view was held by Adolf Hitler or the Nazi Party, for example, since Hitler was against smoking, implying that someone who is against ...

I know a fairly smart and logical guy who went through a period of flat-earthness (not sure if he is completely over it).
He kept going on about how the horizon doesn't bend, how you can still see stuff at a distance and so on.
I handed him a plate, turned on my phone's flashlight and said "explain to me how the sun sets."

Is that like the tradition of planting an American flag for a fallen soldier?  So does each one of those Trump signs represent 1000 people that have died because of COVID-19?
