And Hudson County, NJ is the NYC of Jersey.   They should swap.

If you're from Garbage Island.  Stay on Garbage Island...

I don't live in NY, and my visits have taken me only to Manhattan, transiting Queens to get to LaGuardia, and  but I'd gotten the impression from maps and stats that Staten Island was one of the nicer parts of the city.  More affluent than anywhere but Manhattan (and more affluent on average than Manhattan), lower crime, majority of residents are owner-occupiers rather than just tenants... it seems like it's on the up-and-up.

What gives?

Staten Island is actually more like a Jersey suburb than NYC, it's really a mismatch.  Like I stated above, Hudson County, NJ is more like NYC than the rest of Jersey.  Hudson County should be swapped with Staten Island.
