(Daily Freeman)   NY central scrutinizer: Did we say you could reopen when you had 90 contract tracers ready? We did, but we clearly meant 250, so you can't. It is my responsibility to enforce all the laws that haven't been passed yet   (dailyfreeman.com) divider line

rockland and westchester really shouldn't have been in the mid-hudson region for these corona groupings.  they are much more akin to and influenced by the city than their northern neighbors, and maybe should've been in a group of their own like lawn guyland was in its own own

Seems odd for each state to hire contact tracers. If state A has an outbreak and state B doesn't, do the B tracers go to work for A? Like mutual aid?

Christian Bale: wow, really grasping at straws to be mad at people trying to make sure things are done in an safe manner.

They had a safe manner. The state arbitrarily decided some other manner was the safe manner, because reasons. Two months ago "safe" involved dumping COVID patients into nursing homes. Now there's 5000 old folks dead but fark 'em, amirite?

The state pissed away whatever trust they have left.

Hey Subbs, the WHITE zone is for loading and unloading.  If you have any loading or unloading to do, go to the white zone.  You'll love it.  It's a way of life.

I'm in Ulster county (1600 cases) and while I see your point, I can also see that we're right on the northern edge of the blast zone. Orange county (+10,000 cases) to the south is solidly in the blast zone and Greene (215 cases) to the north is clearly outside it. Ulster county is the transition.

And people do commute to NYC from Ulster and Dutchess, kinda makes sense to lump us in with the commuter counties to the south.

i'm in rockland and i'd say we still have a ways to go to reopen, whereas by you is probably ready or close to it

we've been around 30-40 daily cases all month with only 2 days over 100, but people are going to get stupid quick if they are told we are reopening

Screw that. Poughkeepsie on South is "the city" to everyone else in the state. It's not our fault that actual NYC people think upstate is anything farther north than 170th street and you people get caught in a no mans land where no one likes you and you have no regional identity.

There are two commuter lines running through Dutchess County. Both run through Westchester and NYC. I think I can wait to make sure it's safe before reopening.

A month ago Australia had 1000 contract tracers and were in the process to hire 3,000 more for about 250 per 100,000 people.  The 3,000 was the limit they could train at the time and they were going to hire more.

It's nice having Metro North for trips to NYC, but I think it's why we're getting grouped with the southern counties. Pretty much a direct link.
