I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of cosmetics counter girls suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I feel that nothing of value has been lost.

/The only reason I've been into a Macy's in the past 20 years is because their mall entrance is the quickest way for me to get to the Apple and/or Lego store.

Karma Chameleon: Boomers are running out of places to buy clothes.

Not Boomers. The people who shop at Macys are aged 25-40 and think Ralph Lauren Polo is an 'upscale brand'. Yes, it is upscale compared to Wal-Mart, but it's still Chinese made garbage that isn't going to last more than 2-3 years.

Macy's has plenty of good product but nobody's buying clothes for work anymore as social standards (and disposable income) drop. Telework is going to be the nail in the coffin. You want a suit and ties and button up shirts, they're great. But you'll be the only one there. Get it while it lasts.

As I pondered in an earlier thread, between Macy's sh*tty financial situation plus the pandemic requiring social distancing, I wonder if last year's Thanksgiving Day parade was it's last, period? There's no way that thing is even breaking even for them.

Dear god, no.  Macy's is the worst for a suit.  Go to a local suit shop.  Get a real suit.  Macy's selection and quality is crap.
