Oregon is the state that started mailing ballots to all voters in 2000 and has worked diligently to put in place stringent security measures, as well as strict punishments for those who would tamper with a mailed ballot. For that state, the following numbers apply: With well over 50 million ballots cast, there have been only two fraud cases verifiable enough to result in convictions for mail-ballot fraud in 20 years. That is 0.000004 percent - about five times less likely than getting hit by lightning in the United States.

And his new "residence", Mar a Lago, doesn't qualify as a legal residence, so Trump is committing voter fraud before he even votes in the next election.

I'm going to vote. If I have to build a home-made hazmat suit to go to the polls in I will, but I am going to vote!

I just realized, it's rather fitting that I might need a full-body condom to vote this diseased dick out of office!

this year they changed it so no stamp required if you mail it via USPS (there were always free drop-off places and there still are, but now no stamp needed if you mail it).

Special Trump.  he can even vote in Florida, where he technically does not have a residence (Mar-a-lago is a private club, not a private residence).  So he is voting by mail, allowing someone to harvest his ballot, and vote illegally.  because he is President

Likely will try to also vote in New York, and Washinton DC

In his and his ilks' world voting is indeed a honor: Only those they want to vote should get to vote. It starts with gerrymandering and stupid voter ID laws, but doesn't stop there.

toddalmighty: the military has voting by mail for 150 years

OMG libbby lib! Didn't you read Trump's tweet. That and old people voting is totally different!!!

One is "vote by mail" one is "absentee voting" - One is done by liberals and one is done by AMERICANS!

Why ???!?!?

REASONS!! that's why!!

2020-05-21 1:01:44 AM
Voting by mail was proposed by President Abraham Lincoln in order to allow civil war soldiers to vote in their state elections.  Republicans pushed it through on party lines and the first state to adopt it was Wisconsin.

We have over 150 years of experience with Absentee Ballots and voting by mail.

This isn't something new, unusual, sinister or a surprise.

2020-05-21 1:02:38 AM
Ugh. Each ballot has unique barcodes. You can't print out duplicates and send them in. That's patently absurd, at least put some effort into your lies.

I would like an entire week in which I don't have to think about or hear from the president, and I believe that Biden can provide that quiet week at one or even several points during his term.

Yes he's a moron, and yes he's lying about voter fraud, but it's entirely possible for something to be both a right and an honor.  Getting into a tizzy about dumb things like him calling voting an honor just gives credibility to the claim that mad libs are just mad about everything.

Oh, new MAGAt talking point;

"Since the "right to vote" is not explicitly stated in the U.S. Constitution except in the above referenced amendments, and only in reference to the fact that the franchise cannot be denied or abridged based solely on the aforementioned qualifications, the "right to vote" is perhaps better understood, in layman's terms, as only prohibiting certain forms of legal discrimination in establishing qualifications for suffrage..."

And the national percentage over that same time period is roughly 0.0004.  Voter fraud is not and will not affect elections unless it is committed at levels that would require more fraudulent ballots than eligible voters.

Voters are free to make a Citizens Arrest when they see an illegal voting. In fact they are obligated to stop illegals from voting. There were a few more I can't find. One was all the problems started when women got the vote and the other was about how voting should be hard. It should require a lot of effort.

NobleHam: Ugh. Each ballot has unique barcodes. You can't print out duplicates and send them in. That's patently absurd, at least put some effort into your lies.

I'm looking at mine right now.  There are QR codes on the ballots themselves (two pages).  There is a bar code on the return envelope.  There is also an 'Oath of Absentee Voter' on the return envelope that must be signed and dated, with the name also printed.  'If you do not sign it, your ballot will not count.'  Also a warning about penalty of perjury, and of imprisonment for up to two years and a file of up to $1000.

Of course, the GOP makes it sound like you can scrawl whatever on a random sheet of paper and mail it in with no oversight or checking or penalty whatsoever.  And you can repeat the process a thousand times.

I still remember that photo of Trump at the voting machine, peeking over to make sure that Melania was voting correctly.  Which is actually illegal, to peer at someone's ballot while they're voting.  I also still remember the embarrassing publicity that Ivanka and Jared and Half Scoop had not even bothered to vote in the 2016 Primary.

He set an example for his followers. Now if they break the law, they can say they were following his example, so it couldn't be illegal, if the president voted that way. It is an argument that is much more valid than being ignorant of the law, "I didn't know that was illegal, I thought I could do it" is much, much stronger if it is bolstered with, "I thought it was okay because the president did it in front of everyone." He could be laying down the prelude for the most chaotic and irregular election since the Civil War.

Something is up.
