I was reluctant to click on TFA, given the headline, but I did.

Then I laughed.

Thanks, Subby.

I don't get why these private security types go for jobs like this. They know that people like them, doing jobs like the ones they used to do, with far greater resources than they currently have access to, are going to be coming after them, and they're the ones that will have to eat shiat for it while the "client" makes good their escape.

And to rope your kid into it? Extra dumb.

"Michael Taylor is a distinguished veteran and patriot scoundrel, and both he and his son deserve a full and fair hearing regarding these issues, both before the courts and the executive branch a fellow scoundrel," Paul V. Kelly said in an email.

1.  Fixed.
2.  As if the executive branch is a traditional venue for hearing criminal cases.

I am a bit suspicious the dingus just so happened to have citizenship in a non-extradition country to flee to, that screams innocence and not premeditation.

It's pretty much automatic with it being Lebanon.  Quite notorious as a place where money buys you citizenship np at all - and while they do have a few extradition treaties they are effectively useless.  Lebanese law mandates that citizens are to be tried in Lebanon for any crimes and not extradited.  This is very much on purpose - for over 1000 years Lebanon has been the place to be for whatever you want as long as you have the cash to pay it.  Occupies about the same position and function as Venice did in their corner of the world until the modern era - cash on hand = np what do you need?  Not entirely dissimilar to Switzerland, but with more overt criminality - the Swiss at least require you to pretend while you're there if you visit.  Lebanon just requires you to pay for the privilege of having your shiat tolerated.

/no, not every Lebanese person and every corner
//but as a massive trading hub that's really pretty much how they evolved as a regional power
///shiat worked like that back when it was crusaders and salt traders - still does even with wars, etc.  Business is business.

An attorney for the Taylors said they plan to challenge Japan's extradition request "on several legal and factual grounds."  "Michael Taylor is a distinguished veteran and patriot, and both he and his son deserve a full and fair hearing regarding these issues, both before the courts and the executive branch," Paul V. Kelly said in an email

Not abiding by our own international obligations is a great way to break up the international order.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Sanctuary cities were first.  It was only a matter of time before they came for the churches.
