Ken Ham: 'We have been commanded to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." '

So, go already. A real man of God would be in a hospital or similar facility, helping out. Show, don't tell.

This novel coronavirus isn't older than 6,000 years.

Maybe it will flood while they're in there and all of them will end up on some mountain in a shiathole country.

It occurred to me last night that having to wear masks in public is perhaps the first time in their lives a lot of white men have experienced systemic inconvenience.

Never been shunted into 'suitable' school subjects or majors, never been told to stay out of certain neighborhoods, never been wary of accepting free drinks at the bar, never been pulled over for driving a BMW...

They're finally getting a sense of what it's like to be non-white/non-male and they don't like it at all.

Eh, wouldn't be the first time Ken Ham failed to acknowledge science supported by overwhelming evidence.

2020-05-20 10:31:44 PM
This is the same guy who feels "bullied"because kids get taught science?

Have you ever thought that maybe Yahweh was trying to teach us a little humility in the face of danger, to trust the He will send healers amongst us, the brave, the selfless, and that we can help ease their burden?

Kenny, the miracle is already happening. Gifted men and women are reaching out to comfort the afflicted. To heal, to nurture and maybe we should trust the wise among us?

Or you can just wait to die, unable to take a breath without a machine because you let your hubris tell you that you knew the Almighty's Plan?

Last I checked the attendance totals I don't think he'll be needing masks.

It's too bad his name is actually Ken.  At least tell me all the construction workers were named Noah.

So the state is saying masks are important, and Ken Ham is parroting that line because he has to, while not-so-subtly insisting that you don't have to wear one. If you have COVID, you are free to visit the Ark and spread it far and wide - employees and other visitors be damned.

The author isn't wrong, and by all means Ken Ham is a piece of shiat. Take as much time as you need to be outraged by Ken Ham.

But then after you're done with that, maybe think about the fact that the state has infinitely more responsibility and obligation to protect your health than some farking loony evangelical huckster. If your position is that everybody should be wearing masks, then this is the state's fault for not mandating it. No matter how much of an asshole Ken Ham is - and he's a giant farking asshole - he's not responsible for public health and safety.

It's not isolated to men. I went to the market today and maybe 1/4 were wearing masks. The ones not wearing were both men and women. Old ones. The ones who need them the most.

I think because there is a slow opening the threat is gone. Sadly some will find out how wrong they were.

Oooh, masks in public.  That is entirely too tame and too short a duration so far to claim relevant experience.

I mean in all fairness I'm sure they barely draw any sort of crowd as it is.  Hell, it's probably one of the safest places to visit.

That moment when you're trying to say that someone's privilege has kept them from knowing what real problems were, and your example is being encouraged to change your major at university...

Difficulty: Kentucky. Looks like they had a yearly attendance of roughly 1 million prior to the pandemic.

Bullshiat.

I've got 5 friend who are ordained ministers...all of which have managed to adapt to the situation and have weekly/daily opportunities to worship through other means (one even puts on a puppet show every Wednesday)

Ham's just another grifter trying to keep his already-hemorrhaging tourist traps afloat.

I guess on the other hand, this sounds like a perfect opportunity to get to meet God in person faster than what you would normally do.

You'd think.  But even a tiny restriction on their 'freeeeeedoms' has them up in arms.  To their minds, they're the ones who get exemptions -- to be treated the same as everyone else is making a section of the population froth at the mouth, and it's mostly white men.

And when Trumpy makes a point of not wearing a mask, ever, it only inflames people who already think "power" = "getting to set rules for other people that you don't have to follow yourself"

Wearing a mask protects others far more than it protects the wearer, so it's no wonder they're allergic to the concept. These people are nothing if not reliable in their selfishness and malice.

My biggest issue with the face mask thing is its so easy for people to get round it.

Up here in Maine its required if your in public unless its a kid under 2 or have a medical reason.  And you can be find or arrest for it.(local police chef has said no special laws need for this.  There already laws on the books that cover it.)

My issue is that under hippa rules a store can't ask for proof of said medical issue. So people just lie.  And I know this cause I hear it all the time in lines to get into store.  People saying they don't think the gov has the rights to order it so they just use the hippa rules to get round it.  Under normal times this would be ok.  But with what going on, They have suppened some rules because of this.  This is another I think for peoples safety they need to suppened.  People should have a doctor note saying that said patient can't wear a mask for medical reasons(don't have to state what medical reason).  Have note ok you can go in no mask.  No note no shopping with out mask.

Then again I strongly think that service animals should have a vest on stating as such.  stores have to let service animals in the store(which is fine) but they can stop non service animals.  But laws don't require that service animals be marked some how. So people lie and claim their pet is one. This is mostly cause I work retail and service animals are trained to not poop or pee in a store, While others are not.  At lest once a week my store has to clean up after someones pet and they act like its no big deal.

Last I had heard about the Ham-show was that it was on the last bit of ballast that could keep it afloat.  Attendance had gotten so low that social distancing was built in.

We've known about this since January, we didn't really do shiat until the middle of march, that was half assed at a best. The minute Betty-Joe couldn't get her hair curled and her face shellacked at the salon she was out biatching about her rights. Evangelicals flocked to their mega churches until financial and legal consequences were threatened.

The truth is, free-dumb is so ingrained in our populace that they'll never accept the responsibility and genuine sacrifice that comes with it.  Tell them general hygienic behaviors are for the  good of the community at large they'll jump to lick, spit and piss on every single item in the community.

Go ahead, let the plague rats on that sinking boat.  It's not like they've even remotely come close to social responsibility or distancing in the last 3 months.

I think I understand at least how or where these people originate. They marry the strangest parts of Genesis with Revelations so they can LARP their fantasies against the will of the people.

It doesn't make SENSE to me but I at least have arrived at the conclusion of their beliefs.

It's like discovering an occultist in the midst of his acts. I don't know what to do now and neither does he.

2020-05-21 3:04:09 AM
Fortunately, since the attendance is so low, an infected person would have to stand out front and sneeze on everyone in order to cause the infection to spread there.
