Three statisticals...

1. 30% of Bernie supporters for Trump
2. 1 in 7 undecided
3. Silent Majority

Trump wins. You guys are gonna be sooo pissed off.

Many Trump voters are lying to the pollsters because they are ashamed of how terrible Trump has been but will still vote for him in November, that's the reason the polls showing Biden ahead should not be believed.  Don't get complacent, vote.

It is a wee bit of cherry picking but if you take an average of the last 8 approval polls on the Real Clear Politics web-site.  Trump is 9.7 points underwater.

Last Friday, my mom said something to me I never thought I'd hear:

"I HATE Donald Trump."

Now she did say not to say anything to my dad because she doesn't want to get in a politics war, but she's farking sick and tired of him. His blatant lies about COVID and desperation to open back up at the cost of lives (she hits all 3 of the highest risk factors) were the last straw.

She's deciding to not vote this year. I'm okay with that as it deprives Trump of one more vote that he got in 2016. Granted we're in Texas, but hey I'll take what I can get.

2020-05-20 3:11:57 PM
I'm going to vote, and I'm going to vote HARD.

I want to go in person to the polling place if it's open, because I'm hoping some Trumpsters are standing nearby campaigning with their "I'm an Idiot" signs and I can flip them off on my way in.

That.  I know, personally, more than one person who "couldn't bring themselves to vote for Trump" yet never voices a complaint about a thing he does, praise what little he does that seems like it is praise-worthy and biatch about everything Democrats do from investigations to farking ice cream in the fridge.

I'm going to vote, and I donated money to Sanders and now Biden, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm too jaded at this point.

Texas was NEVER in play in 2016.  contrary to what some people might have peddled.  it's actually polling consistently within margin of error now.

Georgia will never go for Biden. It doesn't matter if every single Georgian votes for him, the Secretary of State simply won't certify the election results, or the legislature will change the law on how electors are apportioned and simply state that the legislature gets to appoint all the electors.

Nah. It's already over, polls have told us so. No need.

What if I'm dead on he inside?

2020-05-20 3:37:51 PM
I've been told repeatedly here that we don't want their votes.

2020-05-20 3:38:19 PM
SO here's the deal...

If Biden can carry all of Hillary's states, and then shave off:
10,704 votes for Trump in Michigan, 46,765 in Pennsylvania, and 22,17 in Wisconsin, he'll win.

Because, that's all it took for Trump, less than 80,000 votes in those 3 states.

Now... Donnie has been pissing off the very states that elected him, so if he loses any of those, he has to make them up somewhere else, giving Biden an even better chance.

2020-05-20 3:38:22 PM
Trump will lose just because of the virus.

Yup. Only campaign in states that matter - Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Promise them anything and tell them how special they are. The rest of our lives depend on it.

There's one thing he can do to royally screw up his lead- pick a crappy VP.
Pick someone younger, pick a woman, pick a minority, pick a political outsider, pick someone west of the Mississippi, pick someone who is the first in their family to go to college, pick a veteran, pick someone with a disability, pick a firecracker, pick someone first (or maybe second) generation American...

We're already at 23,000 Benghazi's, so I assume the Republican Congress, in all it's strict adherence to principle, will be too busy conducting its 184K hearings (8 for every four dead Americans) to investigate failure by inaction.

You would think Tammy Duckworth would be a home run, but the GOP has shown that they have no problem impugning the honor of amputee combat veterans if they don't toe the party line. Look at Saxby Chambliss in Georga. Chambliss was running for Senate as a Republican against triple-amputee Max Cleland, who lost an arm and both legs in Vietnam. Chambliss questioned Cleland's dedication to the military and homeland security, and won with 53% of the vote.

(Yes, some Republicans at the time, John McCain among them, complained about Chambliss's ads, but the Republican voters obviously didn't care.)
