Or, "We're doing awesome with this farked up idiot as President - Four more years!"

2020-05-20 2:42:40 PM
You think this thing is going to be a landslide either way?  Where have you been the past 20 years?

2020-05-20 3:30:50 PM
F*ck Harry Enten.

downstairs: You think this thing is going to be a landslide either way?  Where have you been the past 20 years?

This.
TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED, PEOPLE.  NOTHING.

2020-05-20 7:32:56 PM
Wow, they really figured out how to pad "Biden is ahead by practically every metric, but you never know" into an entire goddamned article.

2020-05-20 7:33:52 PM
It better be a horse race!

Otherwise Trump will win from apathetic Democrats who assume Biden in a Landslide = many others will vote so I don't have to.

04 and 16, it happens!
Happened to Republicans in 2012.

2020-05-20 7:34:04 PM
Of course Dump has a real chance of winning: he's got all the citizens of Dumbfarkistan on his side.

And Dumbfarkistan is pretty darn important, at least according Electoral College math.

2020-05-20 7:35:34 PM
It is really a tough call. It is very hard to find something worth watching on CNN.   Wolf=hell no

But what are you going to do? Fox and MSNBC are totally unwatchable pure propaganda.
Just gotta know what you are tuning into I guess.

2020-05-20 7:35:49 PM
Lol I remember all the sarcastic "it's a horse race we swear, tune in!" headlines in 2016 too.

Subby, the ONE thing I'd feel comfortable saying after the last few years is anything can happen.  And that's it

Biden may be favored, but this race is far from over.

Who says corporate media descends to its audience?

condescends, Jesus

That was paragraph after paragraph of pointing out the obvious.

2020-05-20 7:38:33 PM
A good 10% of Trump supporters are lying to pollsters about who they will vote for because Trump has been such a horrible president that admitting you support him can result in ridicule.  Don't believe any polls, vote as if Biden needs only one more vote to win, and it's your vote.

2020-05-20 7:39:04 PM
You're all assuming that there will be an election

2020-05-20 7:40:04 PM
Attention CNN, MSNBC, FOX, WaPo, NYT, Reuters, AP, et. al.:

You want a real ratings boon?  You want my undivided attention from now until November?  Free idea for you:  Daily debunking and deprogramming sessions.

Every day, spend as much time as needed (given the BS asymmetry principal, a lofty goal), to debunk every bullshiat thing the President has said THAT day.  If you need to, make it a reality show - find a Trump voter willing to be on camera for a modest fee, ask them questions, and do nothing but fact check every idiotic statement they make.

No equivocation, no horse race, no euphemisms.  A full-throated assertion of how bugnuts insane, illegal, or just morally depraved each action is.

It may not accomplish anything, but THAT is TV I'd tune in for.

Then, come January 2021 - keep it on the air.  If we get Biden or whomever, give the same treatment.  If the new President manages to go 24 hours without lying, breaking the law, or rambling incoherently, we can start the "greatest hits" and have Ken Burns go back through the epic insanity of the previous administration a week at a time. That ought to keep y'all busy for a few years.

Bermuda59: You're all assuming that there will be an election

If there isn't, Trump will still stop being president in January.  Unless they literally suspend the Constitution completely, at which point it's all over anyway and you might as well bite down on your cyanide capsule.

austerity101: Wow, they really figured out how to pad "Biden is ahead by practically every metric, but you never know" into an entire goddamned article.

And this is not a bad thing.

F*cking vote. Assume that the election is lost without your vote. Just. F*cking. Vote.

2020-05-20 7:44:31 PM
Two weeks before the election Trump is going to announce that a cure for the virus is coming in a week. He'll announce that employment is in the rise, maybe throw a few more scraps in the form of another stimulus check that will never come.

This pandemic will wind up being the best thing to happen to him because people will forget all the other reasons he shouldn't be elected before the pandemic even started.

2020-05-20 7:45:36 PM
I remember all the Fark post that yelled "horse race"...with the posters confident Clinton would win....yeah....how did that work out.

Is there seriously no other way to get people to vote other than to lie to them, though?  I suppose if we're literally out of other options, fine, but fearmongering is a rather dishonest tactic.

There is an option but nobody wants to give the voters someone to vote for.

2020-05-20 7:47:28 PM
Just vote.

shiat's bad. Real bad.

Just vote.

2020-05-20 7:47:52 PM
I live in Ohio, so it's not like my vote really matters anyway. I should just stay at home on election day and catch up on my Netflix shows.

The Hill's "Rising", some Sam Seder, some Jimmy Dore, CBC Radio One, Kyle Kulinski, Rational National, and occasionally the rather rightwing The Duran (good to get a perspective on the rightwing without having to swim in the Fox News sewer).

Iheartradio has some good radio channels, that's where I listen to CBC Radio One.  They have farking wonderful free on-demand shows from their old programming (I'd recommend Ideas and The Sunday Edition with Michael Enright for great interviews and news).

And if there is a Senate race in your state, vote! Because Yertle still being in charge of the senate is almost as bad as a second Trump term.

Before any jumps in notice the term almost.

Maybe ignore most of the shiat that comes out of his stupid mouth and fingers...  focus on investigating failures and liars and criminals in government.  Maybe become a check on government instead of stenographers and representatives for government and for the elites and massive corporate interests.

Maybe do some stories on poverty and inequality and why the fark the US is spending billions abroad to fight unwinnable wars.  Maybe push back when an official tells an obvious glaring lie while being interviewed on live tv.

That's what I wanted like 18 months ago.  Now I just want someone with the illusion of authority (get a handsome older white dude and a blonde lady, if you have to), to stand up every day and say "This is crazy.  That thing is bullshiat, this dude is lying, and THAT was probably illegal!"

For all of our handwringing about "unprecedented" actions - we're being assaulted with so much insanity that it's starting to get hard to remember "normal" anymore.

Haha, horse race joke. I remember that, when was the last time we yelled Horse Race at every mention of uncertainty?

2020-05-20 8:05:21 PM
CNN has invested a lot of money in a coked out John King apoplectically fingering those interactive maps. They are going to get their money's worth.

2020-05-20 8:09:57 PM
I'm not sure when this abomination occurred since I don't really watch CNN anymore, but on Sunday, I clicked past them on SiriusXM while driving and heard some commentary by a frothy mixture of semen and feces, so definitely spend some of the precious moments of lifetime afforded you by the Great FSM to listen to farking CNN, because you don't have enough Santorum in your life.

I already know who I'm voting for.

This is the election that preserves the republic or doesn't.

2020-05-20 8:12:13 PM
On the one hand I agree with the submitter that these can get ridiculous (see schnee's image above).  On the other hand, in 2016 we saw how farked up polls/models can be.  So, like others have said, VOTE.

2020-05-20 8:15:00 PM
CNN helped elect Trump in 2016 with this "both sides are bad an anything can happen, see how neutral we are" bullsh#t.

It's what people respond to. At this point, it's what is needed.

I was talking about the same thing with a coworker today. There's a 100% chance that 'news' about a vaccine hits within 2 weeks of the election, and that that vaccine eventually turns out to be vaporware.
