CFA knows how to move drive thrus.  Their record is 180 cars in an hour lunch rush (basically a car every 20 seconds).  Even more amazing is that the orders are probably all correct.

lilplatinum: Combustion: Subtonic: I remember when one opened up around here. It was worse than when we finally got a Popeye's in town. People lined up into the damn street. I can see the novelty of trying out some over-hyped chain but you're nuts if you think I'm waiting more than three minute to get my shiat.

It's still like that here after a year or so. But I notice that in that huge line, 3 out of 4 automobiles are pick ups. The kind driven only on pavement and the only work they know is loading dirt at the Hone Depo. With big "INFO WARS!" stickers on them.
Wonder what the attraction is???

Strange that even in Texas that isn't true.   Who would have known Portland has a higher proportion of rednecks than Houston.

Where I live it is. Clackamas is one of the red strongholds. It's far enough away from "those people" but close enough for the Inner City Slickers to drive their big F350 to their accounting job downtown. Tons of trucks that never have and never will be driven off road. Never loaded with anything more than some plants for the wife. And usually has, besides the "InforWars!" sticker, some other sticker about hating Priuses or something pro-gun.

natazha: An In-n-Out opened in Salem, OR in December.  They still have crazy lines.  They have so many vehicles backed up that they set up three lanes and have someone out there controlling who feeds into the drive-through.

They're good burgers, but 5 Guys, Nancy's (local) and Burgerville (also local) are as good or better.  You have to buy an In-n-Out double to match the meat in a 5 Guys little.

We always try to get to a Bugerville for their seasonal specials:  fried asparagus as a choice for the "side", Wally World Sweet Onion rings, fresh berry shakes, and, most of all, rosemary shoestring potatoes.

I've eaten at 4 or 5 Popeye's in 3 different states, and the chicken is always dry and crappy. I made no rush to get out and try the Popeye's sandwich.

Chik-Fil-A is a good sandwich, but we hardly ever go there. I definitely like the simplicity of the chicken sandwich though...

I do have to say that I am impressed with the performance of their drive thru team. You drive by, and it looks like a mess, but once you watch for a coule of minutes, you realize just how well they have that dialed in.

Interesting, this was in south San Diego and I specifically remember thinking the chicken was moister, thicket and better seasoned.  The Pooeyes bun was better too, but chik fil a's sauce probably had the edge over Popeyes

Chick-Fil-a's chicken cobb with avocado lime ranch is fantastic, just saying.

Popeyes quality is far more uneven.  And stores often range from "i guess i can touch something in here if I wash my hands very thoroughly" to "time to get my tetanus booster"
