These restaurants were in quite a pickle. Rye did this have to happen? Other Jewish puns.

No. Kosher is nothing but a money and power grubbing scam that has no meaning at all

Not surprised by this as i always figured those restaurants with very specialized menus would have the hardest time surving this mess.   Especially those that need special religious certification like for Kosher or Halal.

Meanwhile, the Halal place near me is killing it with takeout orders and deliveries.

Maybe it helps to make tasty food.

There's a halal market not far from me (that ironically used to be a Christian bookstore) that I drive by from time to time.  It was packed yesterday.

Unless you are observant. Otherwise many kosher style delis are just as good as kosher ones.

Thats good for them then but i meant more restaurants than shops.   The shops likely could stay open where as the resteraunts could not.

Kosher restaurants in NYC are closing due to the coronavirus states an article that cites all of 3 examples, one of which was going to close anyway at the end of 2020 due to rent increase and  another that was already closing apparently because the owners want to retire.
