Ever since I found out  he was a scientologist I've had a hard time listening to his music.

Beat me to it. One of the best live shows I've seen, plus he has half of Jellyfish in his band.

CSB time...20-some odd years ago, we had to make a ~12 hour drive to see my grandfather who was in his last days (he lived in a very small town in the mountains of central Nevada and flying wasn't an option). My daughter was right in the throes of the "terrible- 2s" and got really tired of sitting in her child seat. We were stopping every couple of hours to let her get out and move around, we had a portable DVD player showing Barney or whatever, we had toys for her to play with, the whole nine yards. But after a while she just simply did not want to be in that damn seat anymore and wailed on and on. Just so happened that I had Odelay in the CD magazine and "Where It's At" came over the speakers. For whatever reason, my daughter calmed down almost instantly and was happy as could be. Song ended and she got fussy again, so I hit repeat and she calmed down. And so there it was, we listened to that song on a loop for about three hours as it was better than the shrill cries of an angry two-year old. For that, Beck has always had a bit of soft spot in my heart. End CSB

/I don't even think my daughter knows who Beck is anymore

OK, setting aside that kobrakai's Rolling Stone link where Beck claims he's no longer a Scientologist, why should you farkin' care?

One of the best concerts I've ever been to and that was in 1997.  Before he had 10 other hit albums.

I'd love to see him again one day.

It was Earth day birthday bash on the west side of the Arkansas River in Tulsa.  Drove up from my small town to see it.  Cowboy mouth, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, someone I can't remember and Beck.

K's choice is what google is telling me, and I have zero idea who that is.

I don't want to speak for the poster, but could it be because of the same feeling I get when I have to go to a Catholic Church for my wife's Hispanic side of her family?  It's like, ewe, how many kids were farked in this place?  And if none, how much of these people's money went to pay off children who were farked in other areas of the state?

There is another thought that could possibly come to mind. Have you considered the people who have had life changing moments inside that building? Or that that building hosted countless beginnings to new lives for couples who wed there? The counseling that had gone to countless people, again, changing their lives for the better?

No, thats not where we are at in the world. We much rather focus on everything that is negative and ignore anything that is or was good. Just like your masters have demanded that you do.

Should bad things be ignored? No, obviously not. Exactly as good things should not be ignored either. But I think that immediately jumping to the worst possible scenario at the peril of good, is a bad way to go through life.

I know, I know, Hitler did some good things too, he killed Hitler, after all.

Fark went downhill when they got rid of tits and the video tab.

Tho, I can't blame them on the video thing, it didn't get a whole lot of attention. And pimping the POL tab certainly kept the coffers up for a bit.

Now they seem to have to rely on folks donating.

For me, it was always the oddball stories that brought my attention to fark. Its funny, cuz now every tab is a conspiracy theorists wonderland.

I'm an American. We enslaved millions of people and did a lot of shady stuff.

I live here because I believe in my country. I have cousins in Sweden and Norway yet they won't take me back.

The best thing I can do is to continue to work for my country.

History is the memory of what we have done wrong. I will build a country that builds a new way.

That is what being an American actually means. I encourage anyone with a similar mind to take my hand.

But I think I see you're problem, you're actually thinking about the violation while I'm thinking about the lack of accountability.

And you're willing to judge hundreds of millions of Hispanics because they are Catholic, you farkin' racist.

See how stupid that sounds?  That's what you sound like.

The kid farker defender called me a racist.

I'm so racist my wife is Mexican and so are my kids.  Woah, look at that racist swinging his big racist dick around, just so he can create more people to be racist about.

Never been a big fan of his music, but I respect his Futurama episode.

Bummer! I thought his tour with the puppets was cool. farking Scientology has to ruin everything.

OK, setting aside that kobrakai's Rolling Stone link where Beck claims he's no longer a Scientologist, why should you farkin' care?

If you thought his tour with the puppets was cool, why would it be any less cool because of his association with Scientology?

I don't want to speak for the poster, but could it be because of the same feeling I get when I have to go to a Catholic Church for my wife's Hispanic side of her family?  It's like, ewe, how many kids were farked in this place?  And if none, how much of these people's money went to pay off children who were farked in other areas of the state?

So, if you hear that a particular singer is Catholic, you'll stop liking them because of the actions of other people?

I want you to stop and think about that.

Stop and think about child abuse covered up by the church. Sure will. Thanks for the reminder.

Did I do it right?

I swear, I would listen to her read the warning labels or household cleaners on endless loop, and all would be right in this world.
