You mean the watered down and redacted version?

edmo: You mean the watered down and redacted version?

Means nothing as Trump signed an executive order pretty much saying to ignore/bypass any regulation that will impede economic recovery.  So get out the and "Die for the Dow"

The one where it says the only way to to kill the virus is by wearing Ivanka Trump shoes and the only place vaccines will be distributed is the members-only omelet bar at Mar-a-Lago?

HELTH vs STONKS?

What a silly question.

Ya, I'm gonna trust trump before I trust some know-it-all dorks that took more then 4 years to finish their college studies.

That part either never occurs to them, or does not concern them.
It's all about acting tough and doing whatever they want, because survival of the douchiest, or something.

I've made my choice, I'm staying inside.

No way I'm going to feel comfortable going to restaurants or other large gatherings if we're just going to keep half-assing our response to this like we have in the beginning.

And "distrust of the American public to take this seriously" is not the same thing as "fear". So anyone suggesting that should fark off.

I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: HELTH vs STONKS?

What a silly question.

I just hope they reopen the stadiums soon, I need me some SPORKS.

Who cares what those eggheads say? Entitled white people need their haircuts and Applebees NOW, dammit! And won't you please think of the DOW?

Besides, people will starve! It's not like we can just print trillions of dollars to throw around at poor people, we gotta save that for the corporations.

I have no idea how long it will be until I feel safe going into a public space without a mask, but I know it's not going to be just because the rules say it's okay to.

I'm desperately trying to find remote work. I can't imagine trying to go back to an office right now. What a way to reverse the open office trend.

We all know a resurgence is coming/already here. We all know that death toll is going north of 250k.

The sucky part is that it's gonna be 10x harder for those of us who want to do the right thing because we're going to lose any help or services that would actually help get us through it, while the red shirts go out, get everyone else sick, and die in numbers that overwhelm health care systems.

This sucks so hard.

The CDC this week quietly published detailed guidelines for reopening schools and businesses that have been shut down in the coronavirus pandemic.

I mean, I can help you with the 'schools' part, random politico writer:

It's farking the twentieth of farking May.  The next semester isn't until late August or early September.  So...

"Don't."

// Summer school in canceled, if applicable.  Like, even if the districts try it, no one's gonna show up.  Teaching is a reasonably well-paying job for the qualifications it requires but it's not that well-paying.  Nobody's risking death or, worse, killing a child for an income that's on average exactly the median yearly income in our shiatty third-world hellhole where median income isn't good enough to keep a retirement account topped off.

Trump can use it as an excuse when more people die. They should have followed our guidelines.

Yeah well Doug Ford has finally caved to the plague rats. He used to be all about achieving 4 benchmark criteria before opening; plus only opening when doctors say it's safe. None of them have been met, his Medical Officer of Health says it is not safe, and Doug goes on tv saying he is "shocked" at how few tests are being done.

Oh, and only one third of last week's tests were done this week (see link) but the number of infections detected is holding steady. WAIT WHAT

I presume that the states on the Great Lakes are pressuring Doug to open for tourism reasons. And I assume that northern Ontario is pressuring him, too. But either we are going to close down in the second week of June with an even worse COVID caseload, or we are going to try to plow through it while our government wrings its hands about failing to meet benchmarks. Just watch ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) cases skyrocket. That's the opposite of Conservative policy so wtf, Doug. Wtf.

Our local school is going to try to do this 6 days school week, just to make sure that they can sanitize. We're lucky, so we plan on homeschooling for the kidlet's 8th grade year. I feel bad for the parents that can't do that.

But people who chose to have children are finding it very inconvenient to live with the product of their choices!  Think of breeders!!!

Louisiana is a red state that re-elected a blue governor. They are opening up ... everything is fine. They're fine. Thanks for asking. How are you?

Yes, they've had to work around the feds to try and control a pandemic, because the federal government not only refused to help, but actively stole equipment from them.

Red states just don't even pretend to care if poor people die.

The document includes specific guidance for reopening child care centers...

Sounds like Trump rallies are covered going forward...

I'm in Kansas. Dem Governor, but well.... Kansas residents. Even during the stay at home order, mask usage at stores topped out around 15% by my estimate and that was in the hardest hit county at the time. Now? Hovering around 5%.

The second wave is going to be brutal.

Oklahoma.

My gym parking lot is 2/3 full, bars about the same. Fewer and fewer masks every day.

There is literally no way to open public schools with appropriate social distancing and deep cleaning. My smallest class this year was 17 students. The largest was 31. You would have to take out all the furniture and staple students to the ceiling to get 6' distance among them. Plus, they won't wear masks without strict consequences, and there's no way you're going to stop them from touching. And in high school, you'd need to do deep cleaning of the entire classroom between classes. A week before we closed, I was sanitizing all the surfaces in my classroom, and it took a full hour.

Ain't gonna happen.

Sadly, yes. Until there is a vaccine or reliable treatment that doesn't require a hospital setting, we are kinda boned.

I just felt my HS English teacher slap me on the back of the head across time for typing that as a response to a teacher.
