In fairness to Speaker Pelosi, she is never around him. Trump tries to limit his time around her to just once a year at the State of the Union address. Even then she can still own him.

I remember when we had a president who would shoot hoops with his Secret Service detail. Good times.

Damn that Pelosi, force feeding him KFC and cheeseberders every day and denying him the option to exercise and eliminate stress in the hopes of giving our hale and hearty leader an aneurysm.

Oh, she has. Which is why "I didn't think he'd be such a crybaby" is an even better swipe.

Again, for a guy who made his "fortune" in real estate, he gives Nancy a lot of room in his head, entirely rent free...

If there is one thing I have learned through fighting with my neighbors on Nextdoor, it's that calling the guy down the street in the Trump House a "snowflake" will set off fireworks. It's even better when he reports me and I get to say that he wanted a "safe space."

I know it feels good to pat ourselves on the back with the sick burn given to Trump. While I am thoroughly amused at how triggered he and his supporters are I should advise that this isn't real leadership.

Pelosi isn't that amazing of a house speaker and while she has managed to subsequently push forward legislation there isn't a lot of pushback for these bailouts to include caveats. I'm glad Warren is pushing for them, but Pelosi would, like the GOP, be happy to give full bailouts with no strings.

If anything this story just detracts from real stuff going on.

I really don't see what the five people have anything to do with.

But if those five people are Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Bill Barr, Stephen Miller, and Sean Hannity...(or Mike Pence, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn, Rand Paul, Laura Ingraham, Jacob Wohl, Ben Shapiro, Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Brett Kavanaugh, Matt Shea, Steve King (R-IA), Mike Pompeo, Jared Kushner, etc...)

I dunno. If it's to save five of those, maybe don't push Trump.

2020-05-20 7:39:12 AM
Heh.

Trump initially dismissed Pelosi's characterization of his weight earlier in the day, saying, "I don't respond to her. I think she's a waste of time."

But roughly five minutes later, Trump said at a press conference on Capitol Hill in response to an unrelated question, "Pelosi is a sick woman. She's got a lot of problems, a lot of mental problems."

Italian grandma shade is the best shade.  She knows exactly what she is doing. This was calibrated to (1) make him look even more like a whiny-ass titty-baby, (2) build up his rage so that he will fark up when he takes shots at her, and (3) drag his attention towards her and away from Biden.

Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder and the severity of symptoms vary. People with the disorder can:
Have an exaggerated sense of self-importance
Have a sense of entitlement and require constant, excessive admiration
Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements that warrant it
Exaggerate achievements and talents
Be preoccupied with fantasies about success, power, brilliance, beauty or the perfect mate
Believe they are superior and can only associate with equally special people
Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior
Expect special favors and unquestioning compliance with their expectations
Take advantage of others to get what they want
Have an inability or unwillingness to recognize the needs and feelings of others
Be envious of others and believe others envy them
Behave in an arrogant or haughty manner, coming across as conceited, boastful and pretentious
Insist on having the best of everything - for instance, the best car or office

At the same time, people with narcissistic personality disorder have trouble handling anything they perceive as criticism, and they can:
Become impatient or angry when they don't receive special treatment
Have significant interpersonal problems and easily feel slighted
React with rage or contempt and try to belittle the other person to make themselves appear superior
Have difficulty regulating emotions and behavior
Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change
Feel depressed and moody because they fall short of perfection
Have secret feelings of insecurity, shame, vulnerability and humiliation

numbers17: I know it feels good to pat ourselves on the back with the sick burn given to Trump. While I am thoroughly amused at how triggered he and his supporters are I should advise that this isn't real leadership.

Hi numbers17, have you met the Senate and Mitch McConnell? They're swell people, I tell you. Care to venture a guess on how many bills from the House seem to make it to the Senate floor? Pelosi is making the only viable play right now and that's position to advocate moreso for the individual in addition to corporations (realistically without any its not moving), and let the GOP flounder in its failures and inability to do anything. Remember that evil Obamacare that we were promised wouldn't be replaced with a tremendous option? The Senate is basically useless and trying to get appointments before it's too late.

Pelosi knows that while she has control of the House the best catalyst of getting people out to vote is to let Trump try to be what he is-a big fat failure.  If she's stokes the fire of his insecurities, he wouldn't do the smart thing and ignore it and move on. You know why they did the impeachment vote? Again, the Senate wasn't going to do crap. It's because Trump gets branded as impeached and it got under his thin, fake tanned skin.  He could have kept quiet, said he'd be acquitted and move on. Instead he wants to brag non stop and the more he talks, the more damage can be done.

The Dems aren't aiming to knock down Trump now. They want him winded and swinging aimlessly. Nope, it's going to get real ugly come October. They are gunning for states that shouldn't be in play, with AZ, TX, and even GA. They know the Senate is reachable, with a seat in Montana, Georgia, AZ and pushing for ousting McConnell and Graham among others.

Pelosi is jabbing, letting the clock run down and pushing for the big play in November.  Pointing out the president isn't in good health is a smart move and if Trump says he's not obese...well, that would be entertaining. Getting the orange turd out of the White House will also be fun when there are no more protections for him.

I don't fault her one bit for the move.

I feel like it would be more of a moral quandary if the question was worded in such a way that you had the opportunity to push a fat trump off a bridge but in doing so you would crush five people beneath him.

/well, is one of those people McConnell?

You know if some one could get the gif of this and put D2S head on Peter's, that would be swell.  Yeah.  It's Presidential Harassment and punishable by 5 years in the fed but most of the guys in there are dems so you don't have to worry about getting shiv'ved.  The worse they do is corner you outside and explain why the Republican party cannot survive on their current platform of alienation, isolationism and hatred.  Well, at least that's what they did back in 84 when I said "Oh Reagan gets his hair done" and got sent up river for PH

Remember when people imagined that Speaker Pelosi wouldn't be effective at piloting Democrat messaging in the majority House in the minority government?

She called Trump a fat bastard, and the Republican response, for fear of more honesty, has been lukewarm.

We can all see his weight under his comically sized suits, why do some pretend that a lie that assaults our eyes is acceptable?

Trump, a/k/a Fat Twit, needs to be insulted minute-by-minute, day-by-day, week-by-week, month-by-month.  The only other option is to ignore him completely, but we do that at our peril.

That should be the mission of every Democrat Senator who's not up for re-election, every Rep and running Senators who are in Dem-Safe districts and states, as well as Obama and Dem celebrities.

Don't confront Trump directly, but make oblique statements about weight, bankruptcies, vanity - all things that bother him. He'll spend all his time trying to 'punch back' that he won't have time for Biden.

Trump is so easy to play. Eventually, I expect Pelosi to get around to mentioning Trump's late night trip to Walter Reed last year, and whether he's physically able to serve another four years.

Did we ever see the results of that totally normal, and not at all unexpected, run of the mill physical that required him to be flown in on a helicopter in the middle of the night?
