The email, which memorialized the meeting two weeks after it happened, said Obama wanted to be sure "every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities 'by the book.'"
"The president stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective," the email continued. "He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book."

And of course, when you're entirely corrupt, non-empathetic, and can't imagine any other motives than your own, this translates to "THIS PROVES OBAMA WAS ILLEGALLY SPYING."

This email further proves that Rice, Comey and Obama were acting in the interests of national security by being wary of Flynn, who had known to be in contact with Russian officials, had recently visited Russia as a private citizen on the payroll of Russian-linked firms, and had been previously fired for insubordination.

President Obama, during the transition, specifically advised Trump not to hire Flynn. The question we should be asking is what is Trump's obsession with Flynn? Why did he have to have Flynn in his Administration so badly that he was willing to go to all of these lengths?

2020-05-19 5:42:40 PM
Why would Rice memorialize by emailing herself if it were some sort of Obama Admin coverup?

Rice had the experience and knowledge to know that there would be hell to pay one way or another over Flynn's reinstatement, and she left a paper trail for when the time comes.

I have a feeling they're targeting Rice because she may be on Biden's short list.

The guiding principles of the Trump administration are:

1) Be the anti-Obama
2) I'm not wrong, you're wrong!
3) What's in it for me?
4) That never happened, and the tape is fake

The trump toadies thought this would help their cause.

All it shows is Obama and everyone were acting in good faith and doing their jobs AND trumpers have no farking idea what any of this means. This is the result of them rejecting all evidence and all experience and all rational thought.

She could have emailed herself a grocery list and the trump cultists would be outraged. Had a co-worker visibly shaking talking about Pelosi's freezer full of ice cream. I asked him what was wrong with it. He said "How dareshe eat ice cream during a national crisis!!"

These people are insane. That email is a nothingburger.

Of course not.  They will wait until Trump or Barr tells them what it says.  Then they will rage Tweet it to Fox, OANN, and anyone else that will listen.  And it will appear that Obama is clearly corrupt, even though the email proves the exact opposite.

That is their game plan.  Tell everyone the lie.  Get them to believe the lie.  Then when the truth comes out, it's not true.

Anytime someone wants to prove me wrong about this, I'm waiting.  I mean, I'm like really waiting.

This is normal, right?

Sure, totally normal. A bunch of 30+ year government employees like Comey say "the level of communication is unusual" when talking about an incoming administration's National Security Advisor having phone conversations with foreign government contacts. Totally normal that they think the incoming administration shouldn't have any contact at all with foreign governments to feel things out and set a pace for day 1 of the new administration. In fact, it's a LOGAN ACT violation to do that!

Or maybe a 30+ year government employee like Comey knows what unusual levels of communication with a foreign government looks like. And maybe someone who doesn't have his head up Trump's ass is better at spotting traitors than you are.

Exactly as normal as an incoming administration's national security advisor making back door deals with a foreign country's ambassador who was engaged in active measures to tilt the election in their favor.

Rice, Obama, Comey and the rest knew EXACTLY what Flynn was doing, and how the incoming administration would benefit from his efforts.

But this brings something to light in the war against the MAGAts: not only is there a dividing line at wearing masks, but also at reading the documents. Use their weaknessss against them. They're not readers, so do the reading.

Holy schmankes, is the part that was redacted the part where President Obama insisted this was done by the book?

I love how:

1) the Prez telling someone to operate "by the book"

2) and someone else witnessing the "by the book" operating, and keeping track of it, in real time

3) and that real time tracking is timestamped by a central server so it can't be manipulated

are being used to prove that they were not operating by the book.

This is such a wonderful way to subvert evidence. This is such a perfect way to make all kinds of oversight impossible to trace, conduct, or refer to. It's almost beautiful in it's hamfistedness.

You see the (((Deep State))) is so diabolical that in warning Comey to proceed "by the book," in a classified email it really was code to do the exact opposite.

What's not normal is when the incoming National Security Adviser was accepting money for speaking in Russia for a state-owned media outlet AND working as an agent of the Turkish government.

Flynn just talking to the Russian Ambassador probably isn't a big deal in and of itself.  If it was just to 'set the pace" that alone wouldn't have been a big deal either.  What what a big deal was him screwing with the current foreign policy.  What was a bigger deal was him lying about it.

The same rule often applies to relationships.

Not a big deal.  "Honey, just so you know I had a drink after work with Cheri from accouning.  We talked about the Fetzer Contract.

A big deal.  Saying "No, I didn't have a drink with Cheri after work." But she finds out that yes you did have drinks with Cheri after work and you didn't talk about the Fetzer Contract, but instead spent the whole time complaining about your current wife.

Does anybody in the current White House or the GOP know anything about anything (rhetorical question; no they don't).

Any time I need to send time-sensitive legal documents, such as notifying a landlord that I intend to move out on such-and-such date, I will mail two copies. One goes to the recipient, and one is mailed back to me so that I can legally confirm the date of sending with the post stamp.

There is nothing questionable or shady about Susan Rice emailing this to herself. It's the opposite of that; it demonstrates good sense and thoroughness and a desire to stay on the right side of the law.
