Heck, us gringos appropriated the Mexican foods and made it our own with any manner of alterations (same as Italian & such). There's no point in getting our noses out of joint if another culture moves on with it.

Hmm, thinking about a soft taco version of fish taco with pickled herring in cream sauce w/ onions and lightly pickled cucumbers. Add a little bit of fresh dill. Serve with vodka.

In the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, they put pineapple on the tacos, so that part is kinda legit.

The last restaurant I worked at, we served exactly that (peppers were roasted) over fresh tuna filets. It was delicious.

Now I want fish tacos with that salsa.

I like how they kept saying "tex mex style".

This is an important qualifier. Straight Mexican tacos are just kinda boring. But go full on tex mex add some zing, some flair and everything is a taco if you're brave enough!

Now I wanna grill up some steak and peppers and veggies...

Here is a Swedish TV cook making tacos

At 16:00 she cuts a fresh pineapple into slices then "grills" them in a frypan with oil, chili flakes, cumin, and sugar.

That may be a bit too foodie. Most people probably just buy canned pineapple specially marketed for tacos. (it doesn't contain any spices)

You can also buy TexMex salmon for tacos.

Unfortunately?

Homemade Tacos are usually better than Fast food ones?

Try warming up the tortillas in a pan to up the flavor.

That's my typical taco, it's even better with some chipotle peppers from the can. I dice them up and smear a little on the tortilla, not very much I am a wimp.

I like taco bell plain ass hard shell tacos. It's a pain in the ass making them yourself. I stretch the taco meat with black olives. Some also find that gross but I'm not the one putting pineapple in there.
