The situation will be resolved quickly, as long as one breeding pair survives.

only rabbits, hares and pikas, the diminutive cousin of rabbits, can spread it among each other, and humans can't become infected with it.

We'll see about that.

They turned this loose on rabbits in NZ about a decade ago.

They are already back to pre-plague population levels.

Foreign species have decimated North America's wildlife for better than 100 years... we just decide to not get alarmist about it, because they are regional infections and don't play will for immigration and globalism.

If it nails the bastards that have been getting into the flower garden after I put up a got dammed rabbit fence, I will not mind at all. I'd rather see a predator get a snack, but I'll take the death by virus route for those cute fuzzy bunny bastards.

I've seen a lot more rabbits than normal in my neighborhood this spring. I think more of my neighbors are keeping their outdoor cats inside, and there are fewer cars creating roadkill.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to spend $300 on a bow and 60 hours learning how to hunt rabbits on the state land across the street. Stupid universe. Maybe I can get in on that wild burro thing.

anyway, best rabbit comic:

That comic always bothered me, as a fan of famed high-speed burrower Bugs Bunny.

They have it, it mysteriously appeared in feral rabbits a stone's throw from a research facility that was studying it.
