I love my Pixel 4XL. It runs the latest Android and is updated constantly. Has Google Assistant as standard and also one of the best cameras on any device.

My favorite feature is "astro-photography" and "night sight" mode.

Mail Order American Husband: I have a pixel 2 and it is by far the shiattiest and most expensive phone I've ever had. If the charger isn't in just right it'll say it's charging but after 8 hours it might only charge 10%, and it also likes to randomly turn off while charging. A number of other lesser problems/annoyances. Never again.

Clean out the USB-C port.  There's instructions on doing it everywhere, but over time, it gets lint stuck in it, and prevents a clean connection.  I thought mine needed to be replaced, so I took it to the local ubreakifix store.  After a quick cleaning it was good as new.

They need to revive the Nexus line. The Nexus 5 was my favourite phone ever, and at a good price too.

If I'm paying Pixel prices I'd at least expect a good looking phone. Yep I know the internals, and camera are top spec, and it runs pure Android, but it's as ugly as subby's mom.

Price has been too high.

Nobody buys overpriced Android. They buy sweet-spot Android. All the Rubes are already Apple customers.

strife: I'm waiting for the Pixel 3a prices to come down a bit.

And they will once the 4a is out.  But, you'll have under two years of planned obsolescence lifetime (i.e., security updates) left as opposed to a full three if you had bought the 3a when it came out or the 4a when it comes out.  If you can live with a phone that long, you get the best bang/buck right when they come out.

As someone who's been on their escalator (Nexus 4 -> Nexus 5x -> Pixel 3a), I hope there's another affordable sweet-spot model in 2022.

had the Pixel 1xl for three years. great phone - only issue I had with it was charging at times. cleaned the lint out of the port and changed out the USB-C cable and it worked fine.  finally gave it up once the battery started giving out, but by that time the phone was out of support anyway.

I was waiting for the Pixel 4 to come out and was going to upgrade to that once the price came down, but it just didn't seem to be worth the price.  the battery had less capacity than the 3, and it just seemed like Google cheaped out on the phone.  went instead with a Pixel 3a XL when they went on sale for Black Friday.  so far it's been a solid phone for less than 400 bucks

I'm still rolling with a Pixel 1.  The battery is shot, but I bought a replacement battery.  I'm just afraid of damaging the screen trying to replace it.  I will be uploading full quality photos to the cloud forever.  Also, Google's system doesn't differentiate the source of the photos so I can use my DSLR, put it on the Pixel, then upload it to Google with no data cap.

My wife, daughter, and I all have the Pixel 1 and have been pleased with it.  Unfortunately they're all starting to act weird with respect to battery (dying unexpectedly at 15%, etc) so it's probably time to upgrade.  We're hoping the 4a isn't crap...

Hmmm mine's been fine for two years. Battery life is kinda sh*tty but I'm mostly either home or at work, so it only ever really needs to last a few hours of use anyway.

Same boat here.  I love my pixel 2, but it's getting a little long in the teeth.  Battery is pretty shot and the camera doesn't work anymore.  Since I'm not willing to spend a grand for a new phone, the current market options are rather limited.
