Historically inept perhaps. Legendary fail definitely.

The Black Death was historic too.

If by historic , you mean responding like a  bunch of bronze age barbarians

Until I can walk into Lowe's or Home Depot and buy an N95 mask so I don't inhale dust while saving drywall, I'm going to say the administration's response has been historically inept.

I was surprised to see my local hardware store advertising that they have N95 masks in stock.

Back-ordered on a number of orders because I can't do the same to use my Dremmel for custom engraving.  I tried Lowe's, Home Depot, even Ace and nothing but epic fail for the masks.

Navarro is full of shiat.  Co-morbities that increase the risk of death due to Covid-19 are diabetes, kidney disease, hypertension, obesity, and age.  The US is 43rd in diabetes rate https://www.indexmundi.com/facts/indicators/SH.STA.DIAB.ZS/rankings

117th in deaths due to kidney disease  https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/kidney-disease/by-country/

138th in deaths due to hypertension https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/hypertension/by-country/

12th in obesity rate (10 countries from Oceania and Kuwait have higher rates, though the US is highest among large developed countries) https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/obesity-rates-by-country/

36th in percentage of population over age 65 https://www.prb.org/countries-with-the-oldest-populations/

But we're # 1 in total deaths due to Covid-19 and 9th in deaths per million population (excluding the micro states of Andorra and San Marino) https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/world-coronavirus-report

There are 2 kinds of N95 masks, craft/shop kind have valve that lets air out and the medical kind doesn't have a value, thus requiring exhaled air to be filtered.

So was Stalin.

"As we've basically locked down our hospitals for everything but Covid, women haven't been getting mammograms or cervical examinations for cancer. We haven't been able to do other procedures for the heart or the kidneys. And that's going to kill people as well," Navarro said Sunday. "So if you contrast like this complete lockdown -- where some of the people in the medical community want to just run and hide until the virus is extinguished -- that's going to not only take a huge toll on the American economy, it's going to kill many more people than virus, the China virus, ever would."

Ok.  If I respect your premise, then focus on a functioning healthcare system as your primary "out of lockdown" goal. Not bars, restaurants, movie theaters, etc.

And adding "the China virus" at the end as a hat tip to your boss reduces your credibility by magnitudes. Fark off.

In a few months.  So far. And we're just getting started.

But "it'll go away."

Or "it's just the flu."

Fark anyone who parrots that propaganda. Or provides it a safe platform.

I saw a new twist on opening. Atwater CA has declared itself a sanctuary city against the rules. I know many are opening but this is the first I have seen as a sanctuary city. I doubt it will go well for them.

The only redeeming value it has is the air museum at the old Castle site. Very cool place to visit.

I must say I find the Trump administration's response to the COVID-19 crisis impressive. Being worse than not existing at all is a level of terrible I didn't think was possible.

People used to make fun of the pathetically awful way in which the Soviet Union responded to any and every potential crisis. Trump has single handedly taken it upon himself to make sure that the US will now wear that dunce cap for generations to come. USA! USA! USA!

Yep. These bastards have a bunch of tells, this is one of them. Another one I really "like" is that the community is the problem when a young black man or woman does something stupid and criminal. (Which can be true but not all across the board you twits) But when a white guy like myself does the exact same thing it's a "he's learning, just a simple mistake, she asked for it!"

Still thinking of that Stanford swim guy who got away with rape. How'd that happen, eh?

It's actually worse than not existing at all, though, isn't it? frkkken Jared over there blaming volunteers for poor performance and then the fact that the administration is straight up snagging supplies and selling them!

Can you imagine a leader never once even attempting a moment of solace toward the citizens during a crisis? You don't have to, shiat gibbon hasn't done squat on this front either. Pathetic. Just god damned pathetic.

I disagree, I think in many cases they're sufficiently malevolent to know exactly what it means, they just think it isn't them.

Dont worry, God will forgive them.
