If your goal is preventing people from dying of coronavirus, then mission accomplished. But, it would be as effective and also be cheaper to run them over with a bus, trebuchet them into a tire fire, or serve as Alex Jones' human seat cushion.

I wonder when the first civil lawsuits are going to be filed naming Trump and/or Fox News for pushing the drug.

/probably already happened

He thought it would be good. He promoted the first thing he saw on Twitter.  He was so eager to heal Americans, he didn't even consult with the doctors.  He believes in fast and decisive action.

Isn't that enough for you libs?  What more could the president of the United State possibly do?

When you watch a clown show, you're supposed to laugh at the outrageous antics and overwhelming stupidity - you don't try to act like them. On the stage, they are putting on a show, in real life, that kind of stupidity kills.

So remember America; you NEVER go full Trump.

Design a plan for containment, including testing and contact tracing, like every other nation that's been successful at dealing with the virus, from countries as small as Luxembourg to as thoroughly populated as China?

I mean, if you're fishing for answers.

That was the bargaining stage of grief.  Disinfectant was part of that.  The next was depression where he moped for a few weeks. He's moved on to acceptance of death.  It's good that he got there.  Most of his cult is still in denial.

I like it. And his supporters would adopt it and parrot it because it sounds like a play on something they already created through their tortured logic and half baked humor. And we would all have a laugh as just not to cry.

I can almost fathom Trump's obsession with it, whether its a grift, his moronic mind latching onto the first thing a TV doctor told him, or somewhere in-between.

What absolutely boggles me is the parade of GOP reps that went out of their way to defend Trump's obsession with it during the Dr. Bright hearing.

I still hear people who've taken it, and managed to survive, praise the drug. Except it's not the drug that helped.

EXAMPLE 1: "I felt terrible for two and a half weeks then took this plant called shamalamadingdong and I was better in a few days."

EXAMPLE 2:"I felt terrible but didn't take anything and was better in three weeks."

I'm pretty sure that when the President of the United States was hissing into the microphone "Just try it. What have you got to lose?" in his 'penetrating a minor' voice, that he was being sarcastic.

It's weird how this particular myth has propagated (like a virus, I guess). Hydroxychoroquine is not an aquarium "cleaner". It's a parasite-killing medicine (just like for humans).

FTA: FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn denied that he was pressured to authorize hydroxychloroquine: "I can assure you 100 percent that the president has never pressured me to make a decision regarding any regulatory aspect of the FDA's work."

I believe him. Trump is a coward. He told one of his WH minions to pressure the FDA Commissioner to approve his murder drugs.

It's almost like we should listen to medical professionals about important health issues.

2020-05-16 1:20:16 PM
A study of Veterans Affairs patientshospitalized with the coronavirus found no benefit and higher death rates among those taking hydroxychloroquine, researchers said last month.

More than 27 percent of patients treated with hydroxychloroquine died, and 22 percent of those treated with the combination therapy died, compared with an 11.4 percent death rate in those not treated with the drugs, the study said.

Using that same methodology, hospitalization in the ICU for Covid-19 has no benefit and has higher death rates than those with symptoms but not hospitalized.  What's the death rate for those put in ICUs, 20% or so? What's the death rate for those showing symptoms but who didn't go to the hospital, 1% or less? Correlation is not causation.
