We quit reading the Lancet over 20 years ago when they claimed vaccines were the cause of autism. The journal is more of a politics magazine than a medical journal. Maybe BoJo would be interested...

It's kinda hard to argue with them in this case though

Trump really needs to be gone

I see the shadowy cabal of elitist scientists are fighting back.  The Illuminati are going to be jealous.

Funny, I started reading it again when they retracted it. People who can admit they're wrong are worthy of trust, unlike everyone and everything you seem to support.

Replace him? On the cusp of glorious victory for the Fatherland?

The Lancet? Oh, you mean the medical journal that published Wakefield's awesome Vaccines Cause Autism paper? Yeah, I'll pass. Sure, mistakes happen, but that was a farking DOOZY!

Out the dickweed and hire Joe Bolster?! Awesome! I loved "Sports Monster"!

And Nick Bakay as VP!

This problem will only continue until he's gone or we get to the election, and the trend lines will only continue.

We're going from 80k dead to an estimated 120-130k dead by the end of the month.  If we *hold* at that number, which I figure is a pretty safe bet as we take measures to flatten the curve but at the same time we have protests fighting for 'muh freedums' and people who rush out to the first bar after it opens on day one to lick doorknobs and make out with strangers, I figure a plateau effect is a reasonable result.

So, we can assume 50k dead, every month from now until February next year before someone with any damn sense has a shot at pushing Captain Trump into the water and keeping us from repeatedly hitting icebergs he swears aren't there, and has had enough to to actually do something.

Add to that, the economy will stagnate right here where it is because consumers can't go out because it's not safe and our government is paralyzed with a desire to do nothing.

This is why the Democrats need to put forward a plan to remove him from office, like a month ago.  I know the Senate will shoot it down, who the F cares, the GOP is going to tar the party no matter what actions they do, or do not take.  At least hang it on them by continuing to make sure the public knows that the Senate continues to support this BS.

It really is a terrible paper. Like anyone who has ever even read a medical journal should have even looked at his test size and just chucked it in the can right there and then. Would have saved us for some of the crazy shiat going on now from the don't trust vaccines or doctor's about diseases. They really do owe us something for all the pain and suffering.

They didn't claim fark-all. They published one paper by Andrew Wakefield which started the whole movement, but they later retracted it and banished him from the profession. That happens sometimes. Being able to correct yourself upon discovery of new evidence is the bedrock of science.

Wakefield now earns a living on the conspiracy convention circuit, peddling his nonsense to rooms full of Karens....

There are only a few occasions i can think of for the common use of tiny American flags:
- holidays
- political rallies
- funerals

So, yep. Cant disagree with you at all.

The Trump administration's further erosion of the CDC will harm global cooperation in science and public health, as it is trying to do by defunding WHO. A strong CDC is needed to respond to public health threats, both domestic and international, and to help prevent the next inevitable pandemic. Americans must put a president in the White House come January, 2021, who will understand that public health should not be guided by partisan politics.

500 years from now, when people are flying aroud the solar system in space ships, and living on space stations and  moons and stuff (but not Mars because it turns out that's a crappy place to live) we are still going to have anti-science anti reality people farking everything up.  Aren't we?

They will have space ships and stuff, but still act like Trumpers who think science is fake, and some sky god wants their worship.

Once we have space ships we can tell them where God lives and they can get in a big ship and go there and leave us alone. It'll be fine.

Yeah, Europeans have laughed at us and pity us.  And now they pretty much view us as infectious viral vectors.  Naturally, they want us to get our shiat together, if only to protect themselves.

The work which must be done is discretely nonpolitical in nature. Know that now and know it forever.

I'm supremely disappointed by people like Rand, Nunes, Trump, Rove, and others who seek to politicize something that is 100% apolitical in its solution and therefrom derive social and political benefits with their noise.

It is absolutely disgusting. It is absolutely classless. No surprise that Republicans have a monopoly on flagrant disregard for due process, The Constitution, and general good taste.

The flag-bearers for this cult of mediocre would-be fascists are equally appalling. Neither having the capacity for wit nor humor they lumber forward with a constant accusation of the Jews and POC. Jews and POC meanwhile are working to make the world a better place!

I never thought in my entire life that actual Nazis would infiltrate American society and government. Yet here is Rand, Nunes, Trump, and Rove. Actual fascists seeking to eliminate our nation.

You have a choice, you know. You can vote. You can vote against them. They are not your friends. They hate you. Vote.

What the hell do they know?  Were any of their uncles professors at MIT?  I think not.  They don't even have the science gene, so they should just take their chloroquine and be grateful that the best covid response is being led by the greatest president of the bigliest most beautiful country on earth.

Isn't this the process by which research gets peer reviewed? In which case they actually kind of called him out on his theory. The nerve of them publishing a work to be critically examined. Did you base your judgement from a magazine or TV show that has advertising?

While I agree with the conclusion I despise the source. The Lancet gave us Whitfield and the anti-vaccination numbskulls. The Lancet is the major source for British anti-cannabis fearmongering. Lastly The Lancet has been repeatedly proven to give credence to discredited studies and questionable science as well as taking bribes to publish junk. They can fark right the hell off.

/ Thanks for breaking medical science forever you idiots.

This means the Flim Flam Führer automatically wins the election, COVID-19 will magically disappear in a puff of chloroquine and Joe Biden gets locked up.

Maybe if the CDC remains a clusterfark, you could send money to Health Canada or the med schools and McMaster and U of Toronto here in Canada, and see if we can get a vaccine and treatment? Or donate money to the WHO?

Like, it's time to start talking in newspapers about where else to go for help.
