(Page Six)   Law firm hackers threatening to release records to Trump voters: "we can let you know that after such a publication, you certainly don't want to see him as president." Have these idiots seen the crap Trump voters have already ignored?   (pagesix.com) divider line

They know he is an amoral, lying, sociopath.  People who still like Trump at this point won't stop liking Trump.  They'll shout "FAKE NEWS!!!" and memory hole it.

All hope isn't lost, there are far more people who don't like Trump, and he turns the ones who were neutral against him.

So they threaten to release these next week?

Does the U.S. wait until then to start bombing some foreign country?  Or do they do it this weekend?

As one Trumper put it:

"I don't vote for Trump because I like him. I vote for Trump because I hate you."

Remember: a large subset of Trump supporters just wanted to burn it all down. They're getting an excellent return on their investment.

The biggest thing I have been consistently wrong about is where the line is - not only for Trump supporters but those who "claim" not to support him but are always quick to jump into threads/conversations to "clue in" those "liberals" yet are totally absent when Trump does something blatantly idiotic.  I literally used to joke that people will only turn on him when he gets a bunch of people killed with his lack of leadership, stupidity, whatever, or if there is massive unemployment.

Now, I'm not even going to speculate unless it is ridiculous...and even *then* it may not be over the line.  They sky is the limit here.

I'm sure this is the best money Putin has ever spent, both directly to Trump, and through the NRA.  He couldn't have hoped for a better outcome.  Half the country hates the other half.  We have armed bubbas storming state capitol buildings.  We have the U.S. president, along with half of Congress, actively trying to kill Americans.

He must be grinning ear-to-ear

They've seen the act.  They've seen the vomit, blood, bestiality, murder, incenst, perversion, fraud, treasonous actions, necrophilia, corruption, and dismantling of our most important norms and institutions.

And at the end the act they also ask for an encore of The Aristocrats.

The more depraved and stupid and criminal the more Trumpublicans like it because evil triggers the libs.

Gaaawd, I hope this comes to fruition.

I'm skeptical, but hopeful.

1) Trumpers don't believe anything they don't want to. Everything they don't want to be true is "biased" or "fake."

2) A large portion of them would support anything that upsets the rest of us, just because it upsets the rest of us. This includes literally destroying the country and/or world. Totes worth it to them.

Idiotic hackers.

They're assuming Trump has money to pay a ransom.

Idiots.

Yeah it's not a black and white issue(except for the racism). A lot of voters don't pay attention. A full 50% are not engaged at any level. Have you met the general public?

Yup, came here to say this, you could hand the typical Trumper the original of Trump's taxes and they'd just say it's fake news and ignore them.

That's why they went for the lawyers and used Emperor Hirocheeto as the hammer to make the lawyers pay.

Since Trump wasn't a client, I am guessing he probably represented some folks who have NDAs with David Dennison and John Baron.

This could be fun.

So obviously, he's going to use taxpayer dollars to quietly pay it off. Cheap bastard would never dig into his own pockets for that. The only question is if he uses money from a kids school lunch program or a vet PTSD program.

At this point, I don't even expect them to do an about face like they did with Bush and pretend they never liked or voted for him. It's just going to be a constant double downing on Trump long after he's dead. There will be textbooks in the South teaching about how Trump was making America great again and the Deep State liberal conspiracy took him down and made everything shiat. It'll be just like the slavery apoligetics and revisionist Civil War history we have now.

First, I'll believe it when I see it. Second, I am mildly surprised to find myself hoping for one group of international gangsters to do some real damage to another group of international gangsters, even if it is only the perception of damage. That means my values have been seriously warped over the past three and a half years. Oh well.

Why would he pay it off when he has virtually unlimited executive power to sic federal law enforcement on these people out of revenge?

There literally is no line as they are authoritarians and as long as they view him as a strong man he can do no wrong. Literally if he did it then it is good. They will stick with him like stink on shiat until and unless someone they view as a bigger strongman shows up on scene.

The core of trump cultist know that he is a racist, bigoted, most likely serial sexual assaulting con man.

Their voting record tells us that they are okay with that. The cultists are the lost cause and bleeding off the people who simply voted for him because of the R next to his name is all you can hope for.

FTA: Grubman, we're told, is refusing to negotiate. A source said, "His view is, if he paid, the hackers might release the documents anyway. Plus the FBI has stated this hack is considered an act of international terrorism, and we don't negotiate with terrorists."

LOL, what FBI agent said that?

FTFA: On Thursday, the hackers upped the ante by posting a chilling new message saying, "The ransom is now [doubled to] $42,000,000 ... The next person we'll be publishing is Donald Trump. There's an election going on, and we found a ton of dirty laundry on time."
They added, "Mr. Trump, if you want to stay president, poke a sharp stick at the guys, otherwise you may forget this ambition forever. And to you voters, we can let you know that after such a publication, you certainly don't want to see him as president ... The deadline is one week.
"Grubman, we will destroy your company down to the ground if we don't see the money."

This is such poor writing. Hackers, either hire yourselves an editor or take an online course in business and professional writing. Poor workplace communication skills can cause you and your organization to lose time, money, opportunities, and prestige.

Speculate even if it is ridiculous.  He could, without exaggeration, end industrialized society as we know it and a huge chunk of the MAGA crowd would still be in favor of him.  Reasons being: 1) their support, as someone else pointed out, isn't pro-Trump as much as it is anti-others.  2)They would (probably wrongly) assume they'll be the badass, blue-collar hero carved out of wood and who survives on raiding abandoned Wal-Marts in this scenario, instead of a random dude who dies of dysentery two weeks after the now-former state government stops providing clean drinking water.

It's almost touching that these hackers are so naive.
