Anyone want to take bets on Dump hastily calling a presser so he can reveal "shocking new evidence" about Blanche, in an attempt to change his mind?

Damn. I was sooooo hoping that bait was taken.

Lindsey may be an asshole and a traitor, but he isn't an idiot.

I don't think this is going to go the way Republicans want it to.

It's already OK for an AG to become the President's personal attorney, and the DOJ to play political payback machine.

Are they ready for the next steps?

Trump wouldn't be president if he did that. The entire motto of his presidency is "be careful what you wish for".

Why should Trump care about the precedent it would set? He's going to be King for life anyway.

He should just lock Obama up in the Trump Tower and then behead him later.

Or is it divorce Obama?  . . . survive Obama? I forget how it goes.

Obama would lay some of those GOP'rs to waste...

That's the problem with black mail, you frequently only have information you can use once.  Trump's end game now is probably staying out of prison and pissing off Blanche might not be the best strategy towards that end.

Trump is begging for all his idiot goons to be absolutely eviscerated on TV.  Graham might realize that.

The Republicans in the Senate are not stupid here. Both parties would get to ask Obama questions at any hearing. They don't want some Dem to ask some open-ended "tell us everything you can tell us" type of question on live TV.

It took a single round of 1-on-1 golf with Trump for Graham to go from staunch Anti-Trump to one of his biggest sycophants.

That kind of change doesn't happen that quickly unless there's major motivation to do so. Blanche is compromised to no end.

I recall that golf game and the full 180.  You are probably right.  However, what if Trump simply told him that he would be primaried if he didn't smarten up.   It doesn't seem to fit.

Nah, someone will speak with Lindsey and he will say that the media is taking him out of context and he is 100% behind Trump. This happens every few months.

I think my new favorite thing I'm gonna do when Biden wins is to tell Trump supporters that Biden definitely committed crimes but they can't do anything about it cause he's too busy to reply to subpoenas and he can claim executive privilege so none of his administration have to comply either. Then laugh at their reaction

If you lick my taint, the people who do things around here will make sure you're taken care of.
If not, you stay in the dog house.  At the outset, Rince Priebus was probably smart enough to communicate that.
It really probably is that simple.

And holy fark, until I actually typed that out, I forget rinsed pubes was the glue that was supposed to hold this administration together.  There are things I've read in The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire that seem like they happened more recently than him being COS.

The investigation will also focus on "whether Robert Mueller should have ever been appointed as special counsel," Graham said.

I'm not a law-talking guy, but isn't that decision entirely up to the DOJ?  If the AG (or deputy AG, when the former is recused) decides a case warrants a special counsel, it warrants a special counsel.  Or is he objecting to the choice of Mueller specifically?

I don't think it's the precedent Blanche is warning Trump about. I think Blanche know la that if they go rehashing all the Russia stuff again, there's about zero chance of any hidden Obama skeletons coming to light, while the renewed focus on Trump will almost certainly prove much more dangerous.

Blanche knows they've already dodged more Russia bullets than they could have ever reasonably hoped for, and that's not a gauntlet he cares to run again.

Yes, the AG has the power and discretion to do these things, but everything that the AG or any prosecutor does is subject to congressional oversight. That doesn't mean punishment, or having any power taken away, but it does mean having to answer embarrassing questions.

This is all just Benghazi 2 electric buggaloo. And just like Hillary eviscerated the idiots in that charade Obama would kill.  But will it matter this time?

Hopefully not.  The key here is that the trigger had to be pulled in this early because the cretins are desperate for a distraction from the plague that continues to sicken and kill Americans, and will worsen now that the idiots are out there acting like it's all over and forgotten.  This is a disaster of almost unprecedented proportions, and the idiots are desperate to pivot.

It would be funny if it wasn't going to be so utterly destructive.
