What $1200?  IRS still says it's "scheduled" to be mailed May 1.

"The funding is a grant rather than a loan, and doesn't need to be repaid to the government."

And thanks to all the misinformation being put out there that this is how the PPA works in general, nowhere near the amount of attention will be paid to this actual real example of the outright theft of public money.

Sad to say, but on the Dolt 45 Big List o' Shenanigans, that's pretty far down.

common sense is an oxymoron: What $1200?  IRS still says it's "scheduled" to be mailed May 1.

Wait, largest of any private jet company. You mean there was more than one private jet company on the list?

Ahh, Clay Lacy Aviation. One of the biggest -expletive- at VNY, but they can say "At least we aren't Signature..."

They take $1200 away from you and give it to cronies etc., then they "give" you $1200 which is an advance on your 2020 federal taxes. Am I missing something?

Still waiting for "our" checks.

Ever suspicious of Fark liberal bias in headlines, I have to ask - what OTHER private jet companies are on the list? Are there any at all? Is that why this company, listed as having 500-1000 employees at LinkedIn, is singled out as getting 'the largest grant of any'?

This isn't a giant company. It has about 1/6th the annual flight hours of the largest private jet company. So you could have made a perfectly reasonable post about that - but this is clearly Trump Derangement Syndrome at work, and it's sad that Fark greenlit it.

What an odd series of words to type.

Doesn't hurt that one could describe, in a polite manner, as a bunch of -expletive- -expletive- who are generally -expletive- to people they consider beneath them at the airport. About the only thing they can say is "At least we aren't Signature!"

As an aside, the entirety of the private jet leasing industry is pretty scummy. When they say "provide service for" X small airport, what they really mean is that rich blue state millionaire is flying to their "cabin" and is paying them to fly to that airport. They aren't flying the locals anywhere. They aren't operating a regular service. Jim Bob and his wife can watch that fancy jet land and leave, but they won't get near it, since they won't get past the "blue line" (AOA) at the airport.

Legislation - how does it work?

The time to complain was when the deal was being worked on behind closed doors. It passed the Senate unanimously.

Either the senators didn't read what they voted on, or they obediently fell into line behind their party bosses.

Now they want to go back and pretend they're a friend to the little guy?

Pull the other one.

That's the face I would make if the government just gave me $27,000,000.

The bill doesn't name companies. It has formulas and procedures and pages and pages and pages of "guidelines" that specify how the money goes out. And then the money just shows up. Remember the article here about Wal-Mart getting federal money and the resulting Fark outrage? They didn't ask for it. They weren't named in the bill. It just showed up, and they simply returned it. So this money will go to a lot of different companies. And for some of these companies, their political leanings / donations / whatever will be different than the party you happen to favor. It's not like President Trump calls his hot line to Speaker Pelosi and says "hey put my buddy in your bill."

I paid off my Amazon card and made a point to not use it again. All the threads about Amazon warehouse employees being treated like shiat kinda got me to stop using them... But that was just a matter of time. Many here saw the writing on the wall that Amazon was moving towards the lawful evil side of corporate culture.

I'm sure that to politicians $1,200 to 1000 people is more expensive than $27 million to one company.  Dealing with bureaucrats has taught me that they don't understand large numbers at all.
