I was so looking forward to an X-men/horror mash up (especially with Anna Taylor-Joy ❤)
but with all the delays and reshoots now I'm actually scared to watch.

At some point they just have to pull the trigger and release it.  It's going to be a failure regardless of when and where they release it, but they have to try and make SOME money off if it, and the sooner the better.

Yeah, I picture studio execs saying "It's too scary!" and "We have to make it funnier!"

I'm disappointed with it already.

They'd be smarter rushing it into theaters the second they opened.

1) If it does well, yay (which it might because we apparently need to rush outside right now)
2) If it doesn't "Well people were still worried about the pandemic"

But that's only because they're too stubborn to release it on demand or through other streaming methods.

Had to 'google' the name, and glad I did. She's got that Amanda Seyfried wide-eye thing going on...

The movie was shot so many years ago, the Night King was still alive-ish.

She's amazing. I think the first thing I saw her in was The Witch. If you're a fan of horror and haven't seen it, rectify it.

I remember when they bothered to find Americans to work in comic book films. This outing they could only find two.

I guess this means the MCU won't be getting a proper New Mutants team at any point. Such a shame. Instead we get this Fox mess that craps on the comic and is only being boosted by those who worked on the book because of the promise of residuals.

I like Maisie Williams and I think she was a brilliant casting choice for Rahne Sinclair, but I'm absolutely boggled as to why they'd hire an English girl who is perfectly capable of doing a Scots accent to play a Scots character, but then make her do an American accent.

I enjoyed her performance in Emma. as well.

The New Mutants was a team made up of:

* A Scottish orphan raised by the church who could turn into a wolf.
* A Cheyenne girl raised by her grandfather who could project images of your worst nightmares.
* An American boy from a coal-mining family in Cumberland, KY, who could fly like a rocket.
* A Brazilian boy from a very wealthy family who could absorb sunlight and turn it into strength.
* A Roman girl from Nova Roma ("New Rome", a hidden ancient Roman city) who could control and become magma.
* A Vietnamese girl who could control minds.
* An extraterrestrial with transforming powers.
* A Russian girl who was lost in a demonic dimension, raised by a demon lord, and then escaped in her teens.

By my count, there are only two people from the United States on that team coontil Doug joined, but he was late to the party and barely around for field missions), and you're complaining that the others-- who aren't American in the first place-- are being played by non-Americans?!

GTFO of here.

Like I said before, my gripe is that they have an English girl playing a Scottish girl but they've made her use an American accent. That makes no damned sense. Rahne being Scottish is very important to her character.

Seriously, FARK... The parenthesis+Unt filter is goddamned stupid.

I am probably not understanding the words New Mutants, fans, and August in this sentence when all put together, maybe it was an autocorrect fail that should read Fans of New Mutants to be disappointed as the movie due out in August is instead buried in Alamogordo, New Mexico next to the Atari ET games.
