I'm sure all the twitter gender theorists will tie this into toxic masculinity somehow.

Men are dying more than women, covid-19 might hang out in the testicles, but, now, somehow, LOW testosterone will kill you?

Inflammable means flammable? What a country!

This is bad news for people carrying AR-15s to a lockdown protest.  Seriously though, if you want to protest and risk getting infrcted that's fine, but unless it's a pro-gun rally leave the AR-15 at home.

Testosterone production correlated with zinc, which is also correlated with immune function.  Wonder if all 3 are related somehow.

Hmmm...the evidence coming in on this virus is pointing in interesting directions - get your D levels up (go out in the sun); keep your cholesterol levels up (don't use statins, and eat real food, like eggs & meat); keep your T up (eat real food, avoid soy, etc.); keep your blood sugar levels way down (drop sugars, grains, eat fats and protein) - do pretty much the opposite of what the food + medical industries have been spouting for the past few decades. Imagine that.

I was under the impression that higher levels of testosterone was a cause for early MPB. I'm assuming dudes like Miller have hairy backs/shoulders and ass cracks.

That the hair follicles on the crown have testosterone receptors that cause them to go into stasis when exposed is my understanding as well.

Did you look at your own chart? The only place that more women than men die is the over-90s. And that's because most men don't live long enough to reach that age group.

Doesn't excesss body fat raise estrogen and lower testosterone ?

If so, someone's amply larded ass is high risk.

Not necessarily. Sometimes it's the other way around.

If you look at the guys who do strongman competitions, they definitely have high levels of bodyfat - but also high levels of muscles.

My understanding  is that Male pattern baldness comes from high testosterone levels that burn out the follicles.

You've not had your doctor warn you to stay out of the sun, lest you get skin cancer? You have a good doctor, then. Then there's the dietitians who freak out at the idea of not gorging on "healthy whole grains!!!" Folks like these are everywhere, and they've been killing Americans for some time now.

It's more a Subby Fail. The article's headline is: "Male coronavirus patients with low testosterone levels are MORE likely to die from COVID-19, German hospital finds"

You can't call me a doctor in public because I'm technically not "licensed". I'll get in trouble.

I'm a woman so my testosterone is likely to be low, and being a woman means I'm less likely to die from covid-19. So you'd think low testosterone might be a good thing, but apparently no. This virus is very confusing.
