the White House does not have a plan, a framework, a philosophy, or a goal.

Sure they do.  They plan is to make Trump look good.  The framework - keep the man-baby happy.  Philosophy - kiss his ass.  Goal - get him reelected.

If you're talking about the pandemic, all of that still applies, because the only thing that matters to Trump is himself and his ratings.

I'm pretty sure things are going according to their plan.

Untrue. We do have a president. He's just exceptionally incompetent and his aides and supporters are cowards and sycophants. He also does have a plan. The plan has nothing to do with arresting the pandemic, though, and entirely to do with finding a scapegoat. Current contenders for that position are A) China, for starting the virus in the first place; B) the World Health Organization, for conspiring with China; C) the media, for publishing false stories about how bad things are going, and D) states, especially blue states, for opening too early despite Trump's grave concerns over them doing so. For a while it was looking like A and B were the front-runners, but D is moving up steadily and may overtake the field down the stretch.

The President is also open to blaming the whole mess on Obama.  It's stale bread, but it'll still sell in some parts.

Biden needs to make sure that Trump leaves office with exactly as much money as he had when he arrived.

Biden: "Oh wait? You never released your tax documents? Huh... well, I guess you leave office with nothing. See ya."

In the long history of the Catholic church weren't there antipopes, Black popes and dead popes put on trial

I'm wondering should Trump be considered the first anti-president or does that honor belong to Jefferson Davis

Anyway, can we plan on digging Trump up after he dies and putting him on trial?

Roughly 25% of America will flat-out refuse to accept this judgment, which (to me) makes the situation worse somehow. Every society has crazy dumb people, but we seem to breed them like labradoodles. That right there is a catastrophic failure of something, though it's probably too complex to blame on any one person.

/But obviously it's Obama's fault

Hoover excelled at making a very bad situation much worse. There are also some incidents in the period from, say, 1840 through 1860 that come to mind. And of course the whole Reconstruction clusterfark. Oh, and Eisenhower's cynical decision to let Joe McCarthy rip the nation in half because it would be popular with his base. Those are the ones that come to mind immediately. We are still reeling from the affects of those decisions.

Why does anyone think the President should protect you from a virus.  Decisions should actually be made at the city or county level, a city of 30K with less than 100 cases and 2 deaths is not New York

Anybody else think if Trump and the Republicans had been in the position they are now in 1942 they would have tried to force Ford to stop making tanks and restart making Model Ts(and I'm pretty sure Model T production stopped in 1928 or so)

No, I assume they would have started producing panzers to give to the Nazis.

there is a plan and its the same plan that has been in place this entire time: domination. as long as a vocal minority is able to shift discourse away from detractors, there is validation. it is base and narcissistic and ultimately has all the trappings of a death cult, but it is the engine of this administration. death and destruction only matter when they are payed attention to in a negative light in relation to trump. any actions to correct the problem are thus focused on the easiest paths: distraction and obfuscation. to work together undermines the basic principal of the antagonistic foundation, and efforts toward that are ignored. the image is everything, and the ends justify all means.

City and county governments are notable for their ability to manage international supply chains of medical supplies.

Never in my life have I seen as many photos of women associated with a single president... naked... on the internet.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I guess it may be indicative of a new trend in politics where incompetence, lack of integrity, bankruptcy, unrepentant exploitation of religious leaders to further an agenda, etc., may become the new normal.

What were we thinking about in 2016 that allowed this to become acceptable?

Only if he can convince them that Obama really does have a time machine. Then again, knowing his base, they'll buy any bullshiat he puts out.
