Strip clubs pay far more taxes than churches do.

Why wouldn't they? And the poor girls will be too old when they finally get to return. Maybe they can do day shift.

I mean...duh.  The only reason they wouldn't is because cooties.  Despite our country being practically founded on it, cootie law doesn't really have a lot of legal precedence if you actually read the laws instead of what we do with them.

tjsands1118: Strip clubs pay far more taxes than churches do.

And after Hurricane Michael hit Panama City, every single church suffered major damage, if they were not outright destroyed.  Not one strip club suffered major damage in the entire county, and there were five of them.

God obviously protects strip clubs far more than he does churches.  Probably because strip clubs help single mothers and pay taxes while churches use his name to rob from the poor and vulnerable while skirting taxes.

Fantastic....

Yet, the non-profit I work for who serves people with disabilities has been able to get between zero and squat in any form of relief.

Sex work? Strippers separate you from your money without sex.  Only strippers I've had sex with weren't working at a club, they were just out drinking at bars.

This seems really obvious, but a lot of things that are obvious are apparently brand-new information to a lot of people.

On the contrary, they do make fugly people more "interesting". If you are fugly and you know it, you've got to work with what God gave you, so to speak, so looking like you accidently slept in a bed full of funnies and silly putty may actually be an improvement.

Mind you, the mohawks are not all aging well.

i just never understood the desire to permanently mark yourself up for display like that.  i mean...buy a shirt or hat if you want to make a statement.  but you can take those off if you feel different tomorrow, or next week, or next year.

to me people with giant visible tats and piercings who talk about how its "expressing themselves" have always reeked of trying to reform their own personal opinion of themselves by getting indelible reminders of how they think they SHOULD feel or think.  to forcefully remind themselves all the time, just in case they arent doing it right.

Here's what I know:
Most dancers... don't work for the clubs. They are 'independent contractors' who pay a 'house fee' to rent stage time to dance at a club. The clubs here - take 50% of all tips they earn, too. Most places are similar. So yeah, the clubs are losing money hand over fist. But the girls? A lot have sought out 'alternative income streams' and finding it less cringeworthy and making more on certain webcam sites and social media premium sales. When this is all over, it will be interesting to watch which dancers return to the stage.

Tattoos tell me that a woman is adventurous, secure in who she is, isn't so tied to ridiculous notions of purity that she won't let go and live in the moment, and that she's willing to endure pain and delay gratification.

You're probably just insecure when a woman is obviously tougher than you.

Are you basing this opinion on, like, anything at all?  Because having dated a(n ex-)stripper or two, my information tells me the exact opposite.  Good performers are like gold, and the women I've met could basically call up any high-end club in any city they were in, book a few nights of work, and walk with $500+.

People do things for a lot of different reasons.  No offense, but I think the generalizations you're making say more about you and your own hangups than the people you're generalizing about.

Sometimes, committing to something can be its own reward.  Sometimes people like to challenge themselves.  And sometimes, people do things for reasons that have nothing to do with what other people think of them.  Not every tattoo is a display meant for your benefit, attention, or judgement.

$500 for a couple nights? Seems kinda low at a "high end" club. No?
