I couldn't buy a Lamar Jackson jersey after the first few games last year.

The jersey of No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow isn't selling as quickly, with Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb outselling Burrow as of Tuesday morning.

Bengals fans know better than to have hope.

It's funny the stages in life you go through.

First is the 'buy a jersey for your favourite player' stage which lasts until your mid-20s.

Then, you get smart, and realise that players come and go, so you either a) buy a throwback to a player from decades ago, or b) you buy a custom jersey so you can wear the same one year in and year out.

And then, one day, you find yourself in your early 30s, and the idea of wearing a jersey (or, really, any shirt without a collar on it) seems rather...unsophisticated...and so you move up to wearing the Officially Licensed Polo.

Before you know it, wearing team apparel at all seems rather juvenile. So you just wear a button down shirt that is vaguely related to the team colours.

Even when I was young, I would have never bought a jersey for a new rookie...what if they suck?

Well, if your team drafts a great, generational player, such as Khalil Mack, you know he is not going to suck, so you can just go ahead and buy that jersey.

Same goes for when they draft a future Hall of Fame QB:

If they really knew better, they'd stop giving the team any of their money or attention until the Brown family sells the team.

See that's why I only wear old school stuff.  Gameday is either Mecklenberg or McCaffrey (Ed)

Bruh, I mostly agree with you, but here in Wisconsin a Brett Favre jersey is in fashion for ages 3 - 99. You can wear it at home, during game day, in school, wear it to work... Got a fancy dinner Friday night? Your sturdy Brett Favre jersey will be there with you. Weddings, funerals, and days that end in "Y", a Brett Favre jersey will never let you down, unless it's 2nd and 8 in Overtime against the Giants in the NFC Championship game and he throws an interception. But that would never happen!

I'm still trying to decide if this is a dig at Texans.

With the sheer size of the Cowboys' passionate fanbase considered, the popularity of Lamb's No. 88 isn't all that stunning

Buy a Tagovailoa jersey today. Wear it in a couple of years and people will ask you "Who is that"?

Subby didn't RtFA.  Tua is first and second.  Brady is 3rd and 5th.

Brady is 3rd, 4th, and 5th (pewter alternate, home, away).

However, you missed the (mis)spelling joke in the headline.

Well, at least you can still collect $200.  That's the cool part of Internet Jail.
