Very good article if you don't know what FIP is.

Raises eyebrow and backs away from possibility this is about a deadly infection of the perineum.

cretinbob: That's a different coronavirus.

Remdesivir was originally developed for ebola, which is a completely different type of virus (a filovirus with negative-sense RNA). These drugs target RNA replication rather than any specific viral proteins.

It was my understanding kittens are very vulnerable to FAP without this medicine.

Don't take this crazy fish tank cleaner!

Take this crazy cat medicine instead!

Remdesivir was made specifically for cats. Cats apparently are subjected to 1000s of coronaviruses, and some of them are pretty goddamned bad.

I researched this in January when I saw things starting to take off in China. Turns out Remdesivir, if you're a cat, is essentially the equivalent of using a Stimpak in Fallout.

I'm super happy that it seems to be helping people, as the sensation of not being able to breathe, for days, is beyond unique. Your lungs pull air in, and push it out, but none of it really gets inside you, thanks to the virus.

So, I don't care if it was created for lesbian anti-gravity Jai-Ali to ward off intergalactic herpes. If it helps here, then I'm all for it.

Someone submerge Jared into a block of amber.

Great. Thanks for helping to spread misinformation, subby.

I mean, yeah, maybe it is the same active drug that helps. Or maybe it's slightly off and the side effects are worse.

Irresponsible submission.

Of course, being the Farker I am, I made that statement without reading the article. Hence my second statement. A treatment for FIP would be great.

I didn't know there was a treatment.  A kitty I adopted years ago contracted it, and it was really sad.
