Hey!  He's keeping the folks in the meatpacking plants working!

Well, as long as their lungs will hold out.  But he'll worry about that later.

I'm guessing gig-employment and sole proprietors are not included in those numbers. The real losses are likely much, much higher.

Where are all the deep thinkers demanding we use the U6 instead of the U3 numbers? You guys were so emphatic during the Obama administration.

Come on, what's the real unemployment number?

The Ivanka giveth and the Ivanka taketh away. Such is life.

It's totally the lockdown's fault.

If we didn't have that, then we would have unemployment back to 3% and everything would be fine and dandy just like being before.

We would just have to ignore what was going on in the hospitals.

I was going to go with the Coronavirus disappearing by April, or maybe that soon we'd be at 0 cases, et al.

Ridiculous. I can see the enemy, right behind him.

And so can he.

Worst. Invisible. Enemy. Evar.

And guess what, those numbers are bullshiat too because the data was taken mid-April.

That 20 million jobs lost in April? The real number is probably like 35 million.

U6 is 22.8%.

Well, but employment and unemployment may not count those, since folks like ADP count new payroll numbers, so that's W2 type work. Gig workers can be revealed at the end of the year with a 1099. Or, they can be revealed if they file quarterlies.

This is a terrible affront to statistics. The law of diminishing returns says it's far easier to go from 20% unemployment to 15% than it is from 5% to 0%.

Of course Obama created more jobs during his first term; the economy was at its lowest low as he took office. When Trump came in, it was nearing its peak.

Depends on where we are in the inflection curve. Some might say the economy worsened between when Obama was elected and when he took office. Same could happen again if Biden is perceived to be 'bad for business.'

THIS IS WHAT MOST AMERICAN ADULTS VOTED FOR.

The farking idiots who voted for President Sniveling Asshole wanted a government run by a stupid, racist asshole. And that's what they got.

The "libertarians" and "independents" (LOL) wanted someone to "burn it all down." And that's what they got.

The assholes who didn't bother voting at all didn't give a fark who runs the country because "it doesn't matter." So they got what they wanted, too, whether they have the balls to admit it or not. Which they don't. Some of those stupid farkers will come in here and try to both sides this shiat, but just ignore them. They're farking idiots, too, don't waste keystrokes on them.

I voted for an adult to run the country. I feel better about that vote with every passing day.

And if Biden wins, Republicans will declare that the fact that the entire country is a raging dumpster fire is his fault, and the corporate media will at least treat their horseshiat as an 'opposing viewpoint' instead of blatant lies.

Meh, I don't agree with your correction, but whatever. I don't like the Electoral College either, it's some bullshiat, but it's tiresome to hear people biatch about it when over 100 million people didn't bother voting at all.

That makes the Electoral College a very small part of the problem.

While I am technically correct (best kind), I absolutely agree with you that it should not have been close enough that the Electoral College was a factor. Trump should have been laughed out of the GOP convention and never made it to the general election. He's the worst kind of cheap carnival barker and conman.

Perhaps in November we will see some of that 100M get off their asses and get to the polls. The vast majority won't, but based on 2018 and 2019, I'm expecting that some of them will engage this time. And this time, they know him for who he is. Those that vote for him this time truly want the country to burn to the ground. There are no excuses for them.

I'll be honest and say that I didn't vote. I wasn't registered and I would have voted independent anyways, so it really wouldn't have made a difference in PA. Still, it's a tiny bit my fault and I feel stupid about it.

That was also the last time I won't vote. If this happens a second time it won't be my fault at all because I am registered now and I WILL vote and know what and who to vote for from now on. I hope I'm not the only one.

So that's the tactic, huh? Demand the economy shut down, saying that people will die if the economy opens, and blame Trump for the unemployment numbers. Hm. Shrewd.
