I received an email from my congress ahole (R) advising what a loser Biden is for holding virtual meetings.

copy/pasta the first paragraph:

'You may have heard that Joe Biden is coming to Florida...kind of. Well, he's coming virtually, holding virtual town halls. His campaign is an utter disaster, and we need to tell him that he does not speak for Floridians!'

FU Mike Waltz. We have a disaster here in Florida where 50% of the unemployed are not receiving their payments. What did you do to help?  I realize its Fed, not state but not even one word of any type of encouragement? Most of their payments are coming from the Feds - step the fark up and help!!
Silence, Crickets?

Asking for funding for Trumps reelection? Are you farking kidding me???

Holding virtual meetings is smart. More people than he realizes have been on conference calls and the like...
I know who the dumbass is and Its not Biden.

He can win by not being 45*. That's what he has going for him. Not being the worst president in modern history. Such a high bar.

If thought the point is he can focus on talking instead of traveling all over at 77.  A better use of his energy compared to a 40 year old Obama.

Trump was also the worst presidential candidate in history and won, so please keep definitive statements about his chances back in 2016 where they died.

Like it or not, "Not Trump" is not the big selling point that a lot of people seem to think it is. Y'all can argue with me on that as much as you want, but speaking as a "Bernie-Bro" that intends to vote for Biden in November, there's a lot of other people on the left that aren't swayed by the fact that all democrats are bringing to the table for them is saying "you won't be genocide" and then expressing open contempt for them when they point out that that's the least they can do.

Point being, Biden has my vote... But there's still a lot of work to be done, and he can't just rely on "Not Trump" to sway opinions.

Counterpoint that ties into the conceit of the article: why don't we just do away with all of that? I don't get why there's still an expectation for a politician to be physically present when we're living in the gosh darn future where Skype has been around for so long that even it's considered outdated. Perhaps I'm vastly underestimating the appeal of people who like to see an old guy live on stage, but I'd like to think it's a relic that ought to be phased out in lieu of doing campaigns remotely.

There may be somebody who can decipher the campaign calculus of this Brave New World and show us the future real, but it most assuredly won't be Joe Biden.  Joe Biden in 2020 is a typewriter.

Joe Biden is one of the few people on God's green earth that actually managed to lose to this guy:

They're back to the "we want new blood" talking point that came out when Biden and Warren announced their candidacy.
Then, when Mayor Pete and O'Rourke declared, it changed to "moar experience" and suddenly, Mayor Pete was considered to the right of Jesse Helms because he had a different approach to Medicare 4 All.
Now that Biden is the last candidate standing, age is an issue again.

Given that Biden withdrew from the primary in September, 1987 months before voting in the 1988 primary season, I'm not sure it is fair to say he lost to Dukakis as there were a number of well known guys (Jesse Jackson, Al Gore, Paul Simon, Dick Gephardt, Gary Hart) which lasted longer than he did.  If anything he lost to himself as he was knocked out of contention by a scandal which he made of speech that was plagiarized.  If anything what allowed Dukakis to even have a chance was Biden's self-destruction.

Also

* $15 minimum wage
* Universal Pre-K
* Green New Deal
* Climate Change investment and zero net carbon emissions target
* Tuition Free college for families who make <$125k/year
* Eliminate Mandatory Minimum sentences for non-violent crime
* Marijuana Decriminalization
* The Public Option ("Medicare for all who want it": how Germany, France, Japan, etc do universal healthcare)
* Student Loan Forgiveness program expansion for families <$125k/year
