Your career is over and you deserved it.

You have a ton of money and can retire anywhere you want in the world.

Now just go away.

If he wants to continue his career he's going to have to turn right, embrace Trump and start doing plays and movies from that political spectrum.

Rational people are done with him but he could have second career, albeit much smaller in scope, by stigginit.

This is a more correct comparison than the fappening being the same as rape.

Sounds like a valid comparison to me. Something unwanted wound up in someone's body and next thing you know somebody is out of work.

He's a celebrity.  They wither and die if they go for longer than a week without somebody telling them how wonderful their farts smell.

I used to volunteer with the Innocence Project in New York, so I'm always extremely wary of assuming guilt on the part of anyone accused of a crime, especially when the evidence is just the testimony of an accuser. People have judged me very hashly in some of these cases when I've said things like "we don't know" or even "we can't know" and defended the accused until at the very least, a verdict is decided in court. Now in some rare cases I do think the evidence speaks for itself and I do assume that a party is guilty (I would cite the recent caught-on-camera murder of that jogger as an example of undeniable proof).

That said, after Kevin Spacey's repeated mean, callous, rude, ill mannered, tone deaf, and downright creepy press releases, I just need him to farking disappear. I frankly don't even give a shiat if he did it or not at this point. Even if he's proven innocent with video footage and DNA evidence, he STILL needs to fark off forever.

Totally, 100% all of this.

I would just add. The judicial system has to be objective with due process met and If the People can't prove their case that is it, period. The public perception on the other hand, and the love of the masses for you, goodwill, status and all the other trappings of being a celebrity, that, nobody has entitlement too. Your acts will bite you in the ass as they Sparky McRapey here.

He was still allowed to have a huge career afterwards and was verbally backed by most in Hollywood.  Remember his standing ovation at the Oscars?  Many of those, including one who claimed "Weistein is my God" blackball Spacey.

I just re-watched Working Girl the other day. There's a scene where a guy who claims to be looking for new talent for his department is really just a creep who wants to take Melanie Griffith to a hotel room for her "job interview". The actor who plays this douche: Kevin Spacey.

Which shows how good of an actor he is.  Even hot Griffith wouldn't have moved his needle.

He's a convicted rapist who served his time from the initial sentence, and then fled after the judge in the case saw the spotlight and altered the judgment after the fact. The victim has said numerous times that she's satisfied with the criminal punishment he received and the time he served. He settled the civil matter with her ages ago.

He went to jail. He was let out of jail. He had his day in court and accepted responsibility. He didn't flee his punishment; He fled the judge's attempt to promote himself with a trumped-up additional punishment.

In our system if you are sentenced and serve your time, that's supposed to be it. The judge shouldn't be able to arbitrarily decide that the time you were sentenced to wasn't enough AFTER you've served all of it, and in most cases-- unless there's bad behavior on the part of the convicted-- they don't do that.

Polanski pleaded guilty. He did his time. And this was all over 40 years ago.

And the Academy giving him a standing ovation was for his creative work. They weren't applauding him committing a heinous act in 1978. They were applauding his amazing, objectively wonderful skills as a director.

Frankly, if you want to talk about people working today who don't deserve to be because they committed crimes or have been horrible people, I could work out a much better list. It would start with Donald Trump, who still hasn't even seen a day in court for his multiple rape accusations, including the very credible witness claim that he raped a 13-year-old girl.

Polanski admitted his ONE crime, served his sentence, and protested an irregular and possibly unconstitutional attempt to change his sentence after serving his time. Polanski hasn't committed any crimes since then. Trump is walking around free, occasionally sending people to silence the women who have been trying to get him in court to face punishment for his MULTIPLE sexual assaults, while continuing to break laws and commit acts of treason.

If Trump ain't in jail, then you can STFU about Polanski getting applause for being a fantastic director.

In our system it is at the judge's discretion if he accepts the terms of a plea deal.

Almost everything you state here is wrong.  He fled before he was sentenced.  The terms of the plea deal included an observational stay before his actual sentencing.  So he didn't serve his time, because he hadn't been sentenced yet.
