That's a good reminder.  I love the cracked pepper infusion.  I just do a little at a time - like a 12-20oz jar.  I have some fresh blackberries (many vines) and may try that this week.

I mix it with apple juice and use it as a colon cleanse the next day.

Buy some cheap vodak, like Skyy or something.

Remove cap

Pry out the plastic pour thingie.

Drop in three strips of raw bacon.

Replace plastic pour cap thingie.

Replace cap.

Shake vigorously, and store in the fridge for 24-48 hours.

Use for Bloody Marys.

You're welcome.

Sam's Club house brand vodka is great for this. Cheap, comes in a big bottle and not horrible.

Alcohol makes an excellent preservative for leftover fruits and berries. Get a nice clean food grade 5 gallon bucket with a lid and fill it half way with vodka (or everclear if you can get it) and start adding your produce. It will get better and better throughout the year and makes for an excellent New Years activity to clean out last year's liquor and start a new batch.

A retired chef friend of mine does this. They make something that has a German name but they just call it Yum. It's basically a half gallon of this liquor, 2 bottles of champagne and 1 gallon of vanilla ice cream all mixed together. It reminds me of Navy Moose Milk except I can function after having more than one and it's not made in a garbage can in the engineers office.

Cascara (coffee berry) is amazing infused with cheap vodka. 25 grams in a fifth for four days. Tastes great, nice caffeine buzz if you go with robusta.

Cascara is also a pretty heavy laxative...

If you have an ISI whipper you can speed it up. Vodak, whatever you want to infuse in it. Two chargers. Shake it vigorously. Let it sit. Vent. Open. Wait for it to stop fizzing
