Natalie Dormer is killing it, obviously having the time of her life in multiple roles.  I wish there's be some sort of connection to the original series, though.  I figured Dorian Grey would enjoy LA/Hollywood during that era, but he really wouldn't fit into the story.

I watched it, I didn't hate it, but...meh. I think I expected an extension of the Gothic/Universal horror monsters. I liked Nathan Lane here but the rest of the actors don't seem to carry the same weight or have the chemistry that the first series had. Maybe they are just finding their footing.

Ep 2 dragged so much, I don't think I will go back to this.

I didn't watch Ep2 yet so I'm a bit disheartened by this comment.

Episode 2 does feature a blonde Kerry Bishé, if that piques your interest.  One thing this series doesn't look like it's going to have is literal monsters.  I thought the original series dragged a bit too, so I'll probably see it through 'til it gets axed.

To me it seemed as though they had wanted a True Detective, realized they were failing and decided to shoehorn Penny Dreadful onto what they had in order to sell it.

Humans are literal monsters.

The literal monsters were the friends we made along the way.

The first series, the beginning seasons were so damn weird, different, and the acting was good enough to carry the wack-a-doodle writing, they were great. The ending was absolutely garbage, just the worst. They carried that over, it seems like. Don't cram every single plot thread in the first farking episode, it's a goddamn jumbled mess.
/Lorenza Izzo (Santa Muerte) is hotter than Natalie Dormer

But Eva Green got naked a lot, so it was worth watching

When ever I think of Natalie Dormer, sad pancakes come to mind. Not sure why. Not sure how a pancake can be sad.  I do enjoy her in all the roles I've seen her play.

I'm liking this series a bit more than the last. Definitely worth watching and I think it has the potential for a great story
