Well, Peter, I knew something was up.

Well, what's the connection?! You can't just leave us hanging! SOME PEOPLE (health care workers) don't have time to listen to that whole thing, because SOME PEOPLE (see above, also residents of Sweden) have work to do!

Has there been any movement on transcripts for these shows? It would be nice to have access to some of the content, but I'm not a podcast person.

*Note to self- stay away from Peter Sagal.

I think it was three days where the entire town of Boston collectively "didn't see" the rampant civil rights abuses as the police tore through the town, looking for the bombers.

In the end, it was worth it.  They got 'em.

Drew got drunk with P.J. O'Rourke AND was likened to Hunter S. Thompson?  That must've been epic.

Is the secret, strange connection that they mine this site for content for their show?

Yeah but by that time they were reduced to hiding in a boat.  And they were reported because the neighbors were super vigilant.  I think the lock down impeded their movements enough to lead them there.

Both Drew and Peter Sagal were members of the Rolling Stones?

A bunch of years ago, far more than I'd like to admit at this point, I had a headline greenlit that was reasonably amusing. The following weekend I was listening to "Wait, Wait..." and they used my headline verbatim. I was shocked but kinda proud.  I pulled a copy of the show and I still have it someplace.

I'm not downloading a farking podcast to post on fark, even if i do like Peter Sagal.
Is Drew trying to sell us some shiat here, suggesting that we cant enjoy fark as much unless we support his farking podcast?

My, how refreshing.  How just like every other website that Fark used to make fun of.

Somewhere in here is a joke about Drew going on WWDTM "Not My Job" portion of the show but I'm too busy/lazy to come up with it.

I just want to hear Bill Curtis say something like "It's Not BLUESSS"  or "Fork.com."

RE. the pronunciation of 'Sagal':   I have a similar issue with my surname.   My best guess is that my ancestors were illiterate for centuries and could not write the name learned by rote.

Drew could totally steal Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me's telephone message game.

Hello. You have reached the telephone of Brantgoose. Brantgoose is not in or cannot come to the phone right now. I am Drew Curtis of Fark.com and I have been rummaging around through his stuff and you wouldn't believe the cool blackmail material he has hoarded. Call back someday and ask about it, or leave a message at the beep. Your voice sounds familiar.

HI. I am a long time podcast fan of  WWDTM. Always a lurker, never a caller.

I do really lousy on Fark quizes despite spending a full work week on Fark.com and the Fake News. This is relevant to my interests.

As was Ze Frank, Al Franken and the Fortean Times, all frenemies of Fark. Remember News of the Weird? That was another good website. I knew it back in the days of Comic Relief magazine. This was back when The Onion was a print publication. Maybe it still is.

Wait Wait is a plague on NPR.  When I'm driving on the weekends I want news and analysis.  Not this weak pseudo humor.

This is also a key difference between right wing and left wing radio.  With right wing radio I can get an information overload at any time.  The worst they'll do is have a finance hour, where I learn a lot about old people withdrawing money from 401ks.  Whatever.  But 90% of the time it's a ton of news with a lot of analysis/opinion.  If NPR isn't playing commercials (and those are commercials), intro or outro music, or it's radio call sign, it's playing like 25% news and 75% "cultural" crap about some new jazz artist, indie film, or esoteric book or, like this, some lame attempt at humor.

/really do love the local affiliate programming.  nothing but great interviews with local people of note regarding politics or business.  lotsa good information.

Pfft, a week after I did a headline it was a joke told as an opening argument in a major murder case (I think it was Zimmerman)

Farkers are so creative. But how do we make the transition to getting paid? If I was paid scale for my jokes, I'd be a rich man. Well, semi-employed. The same thing nowadays.
