Well, duh - the corrupt liberal urban hospitals and lying mainstream MSM media are inflating the death counts to make Trump look bad.

/This is what MAGAts actually believe

2020-05-05 9:44:14 AM
Well, the Holocaust deniers among their ranks have been training them to respond this way for quite some time now.

2020-05-05 9:50:21 AM
When in reality, the death toll is likely higher than what's reported.  The chaos, lack of consistent testing, and suppression of death toll numbers guarantees that number is higher.

Follow the money. Hospitals get 20% more money if they say a person had coronavirus. Of course, they are inflating the numbers

/has to be true I saw it on facebook

This is not surprising.  I had a brief argument with an idiot on Facebook a few days ago.  A friend of mine had posted about the average number of business that permanently close every hour in the US due to the shutdown.  I countered by posting the average number of deaths per hour in the US due to COVID-19 as a way of saying, "Permanent business closures suck, but new ones can open up, people can rebuild; death is permanent."  Then some moron tries to tell me more people die in car accidents per day than die from COVID-19.  (FWIW, average deaths per day from car accidents in the US is 90; of COVID-19 currently is well over 2,000)  I pointed out he's full of shiat.  He goes and tells me, "Inflated numbers, blah blah blah."  So I went and pulled actual numbers and gave him average deaths per day from first reported case (from Statista), 3-day rolling average (from Our World in Data), and 7-day average (from Johns Hopkins) showing actual numbers and actual links, then challenged him to show me where he gets his numbers.

You'll be shocked, SHOCKED to learn that he never replied.

They don't care, your death is a price they've always been willing to shoulder. In fact, they gleefully ignore it especially if you aren't white or evangelical christian.

2020-05-05 10:24:47 AM
A single death is a tragedy, a thousand deaths is fake news.

2020-05-05 10:28:18 AM
Yes.  They've been spreading a rumor that hospitals get big cash payments by using a Medicare billing code for COVID-19.

2020-05-05 10:29:41 AM
If a person with covid AND asthma dies, why do they say he died of covid, huh? Why don't they say he died of asthma? To make Trump look bad, that's why!

2020-05-05 10:30:26 AM
Conservatives are a plague every bit as virulent as COVID.  The world would be well rid of the entire malignant ideology.

States are opening up rural counties.
The GOPniks can enjoy their Rona deaths soon enough

2020-05-05 10:33:28 AM
PROTIP: If the party says it's so, polling will show that Republicans agree with it to a ridiculously stupid degree.

They're bootlickers who have assimilated Trump as part of their personalities, so any disagreement with him is a threat to their own fragile egos. They're incapable of critical thought, and would rather live in shiat than work a shovel.

2020-05-05 10:34:01 AM
Republican voters are idiots. Shocking.

In the meantime people like my niece says this is a "FASCIST COMMUNIST" attempt to take over the country.  No, not Trump mind you, but the states' governors who are arresting mothers right in front of their children and will force everyone to get a vaccine.  Just like in Nazi Germany.

2020-05-05 10:35:24 AM
The death rate is significantly higher than usual for this time of year. But that is either just a coincidence or it's FAKE NEWS. These people are a farking menace.

2020-05-05 10:35:59 AM
1: Republicans want to sacrifice people.

2: Not true. Why don't we lockdown for the flu, then?

1: COVID is far more transmissible, has no known overwhelmingly effective treatments or vaccinations, and has already killed more people in about 4 months than the flu usually kills in an entire bad flu year.

2: I don't believe the numbers because false attribution.

1: If you hold those same standards to the flu, then those numbers decline nearly reciprocally. Also, why did Donald Trump recommend against some states reopening and why does he not lift the travel bans? Is he just doing the bidding of the liberal media?

2: Deep State lies! One world government fiat currency reptile communist lockdown forever and people living in their basements with their mommas getting Amazon 5G Bill Gates microchip autism vaccines freedom = freedom to do anything I want.

1: Ok.

I know it's tedious to do so, but props for taking the time to do that. I get into those fights on Facebook on occasion too. Not to persuade the idiot I'm arguing with, but to show any impressionable people seeing the post that those people are full of shiat.

Hype. The narrative is back to "hype."

2020-05-05 10:36:44 AM
Most Republicans think the entire world is lying about covid-19 to make Trump look bad. They think Trump is changing the world for the better and "they" are crashing the entire world economy to stop him. "They" will stop at nothing to destroy the world for reasons.

2020-05-05 10:37:30 AM
It's higher and it's absurdly simple to check- look at the excess death toll.  We know pretty well how many people will die in any given time period- if you see major deviations from that something is going on.  The actual count is about 50% higher than the official one, so we're well over 100k deaths at this point.

Amusingly, this is exactly true in my county.  We have four reported deaths according to JHU and other sites, but the coroner is on record as saying we're had six and that when he reports the numbers they don't get updated

It's not that simple. Yeah, more people have probably died than have been diagnosed, but while excess deaths is useful to look at, the excess can't be attributed entirely to virus deaths, and it would be impossible to prove anyway. The numbers of people diagnosed who have died is the best we have to go on, this sort of thing just encourages conspiracy theories.

By this November, every citizen in the US will have known somebody who has had a severe reaction to Covid-19 and most will have had someone within one degree of separation of them die from it.  People's beliefs matter up to the point that it effects their preparations.

There are reports you can Google. And yeah, it's bad. Inadequate hygiene supplies, cramped conditions, people either refusing or not being given treatment, etc. I don't know if we have any solid numbers, they're probably just being thrown in with county data, but it turns out, to no one's surprise, concentration camps are as good for viruses as they are bad for people.

(but seriously, think of all the industrial, construction and car accidents, and school shooting that are not happening.  Most likely these increased death rates are significantly Covid related)
